Hello, I am new to the forum and OBDeleven , but i read allot on the forum before posting, including all the related threads and have not seen any similar problems. I am sorry if the is not the correct sub-board for this. I want to activate the 10 ambient color mode for my car. I have OBDeleven pro, and I am using it on the IOS app I have a 2017 golf alltrack 1.8. The car has the integrated red lights on the doors and the white light on the floor. I assume I won't be able to change the colors of the doors and the floor as they seem to be build in and don't have the ambient option. However I want enable the option to change the colors of my display and dash, witch I have seen a bunch of people do. Here is what I have tried so far. Firstly I attempted to do the mod directly with adaptations. I watched all the videos on the forum and on youtube and activated the new lighting display and coded the colors. The result was the new menu allowed me to do the individual zones- door and feet, but when i click on the color dots the display only shows on blue line in the center, and clicking it has no effect. Then I tried with the 10 color app. I tried all 4 options and the result was the same. Only a small blue line where the color options should be. Then today I went back and reverted all my previous coding for this and tried again with the app. Still the result is the same. I was very thorough when following the video, institutions from few users on the forum and internet, and I am really staring to lose it and want to make this work. I am posting a photo of what the color option display looks like with the blue line. I am also attaching the coding history. I have done a few other adaptations and long coding so ignore those if they are not the issue. I would love it if someone can point me in the right direction and let me know what a fix for this would be. P.S in terms of faults I am getting one related to these systems. Not sure if it is related as far as I read on the forum it has something to do with the sigh recodnition. 1. Dashboard - U111000 - Function restriction due to communication interruption OBDeleven_Log-addaptations and coding 21.10.23.txt (8.91 KB)

You tried resetting the radio after adding the colours in the colour list?

Hello vwjap, Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have restarted the media screen numerous times when doing it. I have been over the whole process maybe 3 times. Also the app restarts the display automatically as well.
Here are the steps from adaptations I have taken.
I have changed the
Ambientemenue mit globalem aus: Old value: not_active New value: active Ambientemenue mit alle Zonen: Old value: not_active New value: active
Instrumententafelbeleuchtung mehrfarbig: Old value: not_active New value: active
Ambient_Farbliste_HMI: Old value: not_active New value: active
p_ambientelicht_verbauinformation_HMI: Old value: 0 New value: 11111111 p_ambientelicht_verbauinformation_HMI_2: Old value: 0 New value: 11111111
I did revert all the settings back after that, and decided to try again with the ready app. I tried the app with credits. 10 ambient colors. v1/v2/v3/v4
Also i saw one person do these as welll. So i tried.
p_ambienteumfang_mehrfarbig_HMI Old value: 0
New value: 100
p_ambienteumfang_mehrfarbig_HMI_2 Old value: 0
New value: 100
But basically i did restart a few times in between these or all at once after finish, testing different configurations and the overall result is the menu is there, but the colors are not showing up. Only the blue line from the photo.

You don’t mention typing in the colours tho
Did you do that?
Have you made sure none are all 3 set to 0?
Have you tried resetting background lighting in the reset settings in the mib? (Had someone else the on/off reset didn’t work for)

So
nt. light, 2nd generation: Instrumententafelbeleuchtung mehrfarbig: active AID colour- needed
Interior light, light configuration: Ambientemenue mit globalem aus: active gives you a off button in background lighting to switch off door and footwell lighting
Interior light, light configuration: Ambientemenue mit alle Zonen: active Adds the “background lighting” buttons in settings- needed
Ambient_Farbliste_HMI: active gives you the colour slider at bottom of background lighting screen- needed
The 2 that you set to 11111111 are for the settings cog ⚙️ on screen
And these
p_ambienteumfang_mehrfarbig_HMI Old value: 0
New value: 100
p_ambienteumfang_mehrfarbig_HMI_2 Old value: 0
New value: 100
Make the selected colour show up on the background lighting screen instead of white lights

Hey again. I did type in the colors manually when doing the adaptations method.
After it didn't work I reverted back the all the codes for the colors to 0 and now the app has configured them.
Can you please explain this part: Have you made sure none are all 3 set to 0? I did see a similar comment on a youtube video about it, but couldn't figure out what it meant.
I have only done the reset true the on/off button. I hold it for about 20 seconds I think and let go of it when the display startup logo appears.
I wasn't aware there is a reset option in the mib? Isn't that for factory reset and would revert all the settings back to OEM configuration ?

V1- 10 colour V2- 30 colour V3- 30 colour (different colour menu headings) V4- off

No if you go reset it gives you another menu, all, lights, driver assist and another one If any of the 10 colours has red = 0 and green = 0 and blue = 0 then the list doesn’t work So if it’s like this Ambientelicht Farbliste: Rotwert Farbe 1: 0 Gruenwert Farbe 1: 0 Blauwert Farbe 1: 0 Was it my video? (Although there’s a few videos out there not many show you the actual programming)

Hey Again. Definity didn't have a single color be 0/0/0 for all 3 values of a single color. Here is one of the configurations i tried first. It was copied from a previous post on the forum.
Adaptation Control unit: 09 Central Electrics Name: Ambience_lightning_color_list Values: Rotwert Farbe 1: Old value: 225 New value: 217 Gruenwert Farbe 1: Old value: 51 New value: 221 Blauwert Farbe 1: Old value: 0 New value: 235 Rotwert Farbe 2: Old value: 0 New value: 169 Gruenwert Farbe 2: Old value: 0 New value: 169 Blauwert Farbe 2: Old value: 0 New value: 169 Rotwert Farbe 3: Old value: 0 New value: 253 Gruenwert Farbe 3: Old value: 0 New value: 108 Blauwert Farbe 3: Old value: 0 New value: 55 Rotwert Farbe 4: Old value: 0 New value: 242 Rotwert Farbe 5: Old value: 0 New value: 254 Gruenwert Farbe 5: Old value: 0 New value: 88 Blauwert Farbe 5: Old value: 0 New value: 240 Rotwert Farbe 6: Old value: 0 New value: 124 Gruenwert Farbe 6: Old value: 0 New value: 63 Blauwert Farbe 6: Old value: 0 New value: 190 Gruenwert Farbe 7: Old value: 0 New value: 102 Blauwert Farbe 7: Old value: 0 New value: 255 Gruenwert Farbe 8: Old value: 0 New value: 204 Blauwert Farbe 8: Old value: 0 New value: 255 Gruenwert Farbe 9: Old value: 0 New value: 204 Rotwert Farbe 10: Old value: 0 New value: 136 Gruenwert Farbe 10: Old value: 0 New value: 255 Blauwert Farbe 10: Old value: 0 New value: 57
I will go to the car to try again. What do you recommend to try ? Firstly to restart the lights true the menu, and if it doesn't work to try to add color codes again ? Should I turn the app directly to off or original and try adaptations method from the start and not try the app.

Hey. Yes i did notice that, but that menu Ambientelicht Farbliste didn't show up when I was looking for it. I found Ambience_lightning_color_list as it was in the same control unit and it seem the same.
Could it be a iphone app difference or difference due to the car mode.

Try the reset, if not do a backup of the 09 and send me a pm or post here and I’ll look through it, see if anything stands out

Hey vwjap,
You are truly a GOD. The reset was the problem. After i did a reset on lights true the mib the color options finaly showed up and it works !!!
You have made me very happy today, as I was losing my mind over this.
Final question for you. Where can I find the color list for the 30 variants in the adaptations. The app only shows 10 colors for v1/v2/v3/v4 and I would like to add them manually. Is there a separate option i need to activate to get those to show up as well ?

Depends when in 2017 your car was made, early ones only had 10 colours, later ones had 30 (mine has 10) But there would be another colour list 2 just need to fill 11-30 out So it would be mbient light color list 255, 0, 0 - red (example: Rotwert färbe 1: 255, Gruenwert färbe 1: 0, Blauwert färbe 1: 0) 255, 51, 0 255, 102, 0 255, 153, 0 255, 204, 0 255, 255, 0 204, 255, 0 153, 255, 0 102, 255, 0 51, 255, 0 ---------------------------------- Ambience_lighting_color_list_2 0, 255, 0 - green 0, 255, 51 0, 255, 102 0, 255, 153 0, 255, 204 0, 255, 255 0, 204, 255 0, 153, 255 0, 102, 255 0, 51, 255 0, 0, 255 - blue 51, 0, 255 102, 0, 255 153, 0, 255 204, 0, 255 255, 0, 255 255, 0, 204 255, 0, 153 255, 0, 102 255, 0, 51 As for the 10/30 app V1 is 10 V2 is 30 (early cars ) V3 is 30 (later cars as one of the menu descriptions is different) V4 is off
