Anyone succeeded or willing to test to turn off the front light bar on a Golf MK8 in the central electronics module? I tried multiple times but always get the Function not available error. Trying to find out if I am the only one or nobody can.. Thx

Take care that the ID (wiring as well) for the Light bar lamps in the BCM is dependant on the production date:
To MY CW48 2020 Leuchte 2 SL VL B20 Leuchte 3 SL VR B32
From MY CW48 2020 Leuchte 31 AMBL 1 C61 Leuchte 32 AMBL 2 C35
All four entries are present in the BCM, and you possibly tried to code-out the wrong pair.

Stumbled across this thread as im trying to code out the light bar, just not a fan. I have a 2021 GTi Clubsport and indeed both enteries above are present but mine are currently set to:
Control unit 09 → Adjustments:
Leuchte 31 AMBL 1 C61: - Lichtfunktion A 31: not_active - Lichtfunktion D 31: not_active Leuchte 32 AMBL 2 C35: - Lichtfunktion A 32: not_active - Lichtfunktion D 32: not_active
but
Leuchte 2 SL VL B20: - Lichtfunktion A 2: Standard - Lichtfunktion D 2: Ambiente Exterior 4 Leuchte 3 SL VR B32: - Lichtfunktion A 3: Standard - Lichtfunktion D 3: Ambiente Exterior 4
Which suggests to me that my light bar is only controlled in the older Leuchte 2/3 pair not the newer one... However, i still cant code them out as i get a "31 Function not available error" - Boot open, ignition on (also tried with engine on, no dice)
My feeling is there must be another module/dataset that's in use or needs adjusting to enable this adaption. Also worth noting that i have SFD unlocked, and have tried development mode too, have even tried clearing app cache/data, signing out, uninstalling app, reinstalling, still get the same 31 error.....
Can anyone help here?

Hi, to disable the LED Strip Light in the Front use this coding: (i disabled mine too - i dont like it) => 09 - Zentralelektrik/Central Electric => Anpassung/Adaption => Leuchte 31 AMBL 1 C61: Lichtfunktion A 31 auf "nicht aktiv" / „Not activ“ Lichtfunktion D 31 auf "nicht aktiv" / „Not activ“ => Leuchte 32 AMBL 2 C35 Lichtfunktion A 32 auf "nicht aktiv" / „Not activ“ Lichtfunktion D 32 auf "nicht aktiv" / „Not activ“ Coding with Open hood. After coding, close the hood und lock the car. Wait Till the ECUs going to sleep. (5min should be ok) I did the same on my Golf 8 R (2021). BTW: i got the same error „Function Not available error“ one time. My Solution was: with open hood, coding back to original, close the hood, lock the car, wait Till the ECUs going to sleep, restart the App/make a new Connection. Then try to code again. (Same procedure). Try this Greeting

xor88 - i appriciate the response, but im not sure you have understood my issue. My car does not seem to have the light bar controlled by "Leuchte 31 AMBL 1 C61/ Leuchte 32 AMBL 2 C35" but rather "Leuchte 2 SL VL B20/Leuchte 3 SL VR B32" - of which i am unable to code out. As you will see my car from factory already has "Leuchte 31 / Leuchte 32" set to not active, but "Leuchte 2/ Leuchte 2" set. I can only assume that although my car is a Mar 2021 registered car, it may have been manufactured before MY CW48 2020 - but I'm making an assumption here.. I suppose the question is does anyone with a MY CW48 2020 car successfully disabled the light bar.... Thanks.

Good morning, isn't there a simpler method to turn off the LED bar? Maybe even acting mechanically... Why don't they put it on obd eleven without having to use coding but only via credits?

Why don't they put it on obd eleven without having to use coding but only via credits? I'm not 100% sure how OBDeleven handles the scripts (one-click apps) that require credits, but I think that various individual users create the scripts and provide them to OBDeleven. I don't believe that the OBDeleven staff create these scripts themselves. My guess is that no-one has yet bothered to create a script that disables the light bar, probably because of low demand for such a function. In the meantime, you could consider simply unplugging the light bar and seeing if that solution meets your needs.
