Hello, I am looking to disable the headlight DRL LED completely when running daylight, night time, and parking lights on a B8.5 2014 S5.
I am currently running custom headlight switchback LEDs and am looking to find a way to run the front turn signals as the only LEDs without any errors or faults.
In order to run the turn signals as DRL LEDs, I have enabled this option through long coding:
[09 – Cent. Elect.] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 10 -> Bit 0- Change Bit 0 to 1
However, with the switchback kit, the white LED remains on and mixes with the turn signal led. In order to correct this, I am looking for a way to disable the original white LED.
I have gone through [09 – Cent. Elect.] -> [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 3 and modified the brightness, however anything under 28 throws these errors: Supply for Left/Right LED Parking Lamp/DRL Module 02895 and 02897.
I have also tested [09 – Cent. Elect.] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 10 -> Bit 6 to disabled the LED DRL, but it will cause the same error 02895 and 02897.
Also, I tried an option seen on B8 A4s who were able to turn off the DRL by enabling side markers as DRL, [09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 2 -> Bit 6 - Change Bit 0 set to 1, however this seems to have no effect on the B8.5.
Lastly I have tried turning off the DRL in the MMI under exterior lighting with no success.
Is there any other long coding options or combinations that could turn off the DRL LED without triggering errors 02895 and 02897, or is there a way to reduce the required voltage supply for the LEDs so that I can lower the brightness in the adaptation to 20 or under? There also may be a way to clear the the software management error by calculating a new hash or do something with svm, but I am not familiar with it at all. Thanks!
