This is just a discussion post out of curiosity if any of the knowledgable guys here can shed a light .
Before having virtual cockpit fitted in my car whenever a cornering light would go bad I would have a warning Error : cornering light (AFS) , after retroffiting the virtual cockpit the warning changed to Error : dynamic cornering light wich seems odd because a friend has a same car with virtual cockpit as mine but his says : Error cornering light (AFS) . Just asking why this would happen and if could be changed or not .Both cars are 2014 gtd's with bixenon lights . Thank you

goni : Hi - and an excellent question (clearly you are a very observant bloke/lass?)
The answer to your question lies at the heart of the 2 x cornering-light systems that VW offers in MQB platform build cars - like this: - Dynamic Cornering Light - this is a system whereby a motor that's integrated into the headlight fittings (called "V319" & "V318") swivels the dipped beam bulb module horizontally as the steering wheel is turned
- Static Cornering Light - this is a system whereby the headlight fittings contain an additional light that's dedicated to illuminating the area when driving around tight curves. This system has NO motors - instead, the reflector in the Static cornering light bulb is aimed towards the car side.
On some vehicles, the Static Cornering Light facility is applied to the front fog lights and the extra bulb in the headlight fittings is absent.
Note: Cornering Light and AFS (Adaptive Front-light System) are synonymous terms (I think)
So, I'm guessing that your friend's car has Static cornering light and your car has Dynamic Cornering Lights - or if not, the Dashboard module is programmed for this type of headlight (check Byte 4, Bit 3)

Hi dv52 , first of all thank you for your time.
Car is european model so I think it has both of the systems because the xenon lights will swivel in corners but also got the afs bulbs that lights up when turning the wheels at lower speeds ( h7 bulbs ) . Checked the long coding in Dashboard and I have enabled " adaptive lighting" in byte 04 , but unfortunately I dont have the old instrument cluster coding to compare
