Hello,
My front passenger window will not go up/down with one push anymore. I tried calibrating by raising and then pressing and holding the switch for 3 seconds and then fully lowering and then holding down for 3 seconds on each attempt on drivers switch. No fix. Tried the same but on front passenger switch, no fix. The front right window doesn't go up or down with one push. I also tried on both driver and front passenger switch the whole calibration but this time holding switch for 5 seconds, no fix. Tried again on both window switches but this time for 15 seconds, no fix. Tried also to lower window fully and then pressing down on the switch 3 times and then raising window fully and pressing up 3 times as well. No fix. Ran a scan on the passenger window and find no faults. Any suggestions please?

As far as I understand the instructions, it says: At the end positions of the windows, hold the switch in the respective position for at least another 3 seconds after reaching the stop (top or bottom) and only then release it.
So hold the switch to start up until it closes completely and hold it for at least 3 seconds without letting go in between. Only then let go. Same shutdown process.
The force limitation only learns new at the end positions. Try this.

The same thing happened to my car. No matter what I tried, it didn't auto close. One day I replaced the battery and it was fixed. I think this is because the battery was removed and the module was reset. What if I try removing the battery and resetting it?

Forum members, is there a way to reset the module that controls the front passenger window? Also, if I unplug and re-plug my battery, will I lose any codings I have done (Powered Side mirrors, removed all infotainment operations movement warnings, Seatbelt warning, right side mirror down in reverse) if I unplug and plug my battery?

adpeguero: The normal way to re-calibrate the windows is as OP describes in the first post of this thread. And no, if the battery lead is disconnected and then replaced - coding changes will NOT be lost (these settings are held in non-volatile memory). What will happen though is that a number of errors may appear on the dash. These errors will be self-deleted after a short drive Don

Hi Don: I opened a service appointment with my local VW Dealer so they can look into this error. Do you think they'll notice OBDEleven activity, at least noticing the Power Folding Side mirrors and give me a hard time because I used OBDEleven? My car is still under warranty. Because if they are then I might just cancel that appointment.

adpeguero : Hmm........I'm not sure. Generally when errors are diagnosed at the dealer - the master-tech's focus is solely in the area of the fault. Meaning that they don't go to the extra effort of checking the car's factory settings against the actual values in the modules (this would be a very tedious exercise). In this case however, it really depends on what is meant by "the Power Folding Side Mirrors"? Did you retrofit these, or did you simply code them to operate differently?
My hesitancy in saying "NO" is that folding side mirrors are connected to the door modules and the "Fast glass" up/down switches are also connected to the door modules. So this is likely where the dealer will be looking!!

I'll cancel that warranty service appointment for the window then so as not to risk possible issues with them and me retrofitting the power closing mirrors. Thanks.

Did the windows work AFTER you fitted the mirrors? If you did I doubt they would care or notice, I went in with a radio problem, they updated the firmware with a security fix, radio had different screens, VIM, different colours, more menus, and a few other things, the firmware put it back to normal and they replaced the screen under warranty, only remark I got was they liked the green dash, Unless it’s a door module that’s gone and not a OG module then that’s the only thing I would think would stop a warranty claim

I fixed this whole issue by bringing it to my VW Dealer who had to re-program the front right passenger window. I told them I had added the power folding mirrors (those are not offered in the US so it's a retrofit option) and I told them that to use them I had to use OBDEleven's Retrofit option. The Service Manager was cool about it and fixed the FR window by reprogramming it. Unfortunately, this disable the power folding option in the right door. I re-enabled it by simply going into the passenger door module in OBDEleven and changing the option of power folding mirrors from "Not Installed" to "Installed" and then changing the Convenience Power Folding Mirrors from "Inactive" to "Active". That was all. I also re-activated the "Lower Mirror for Reverse" while I was there. This fixed it. So now I have my one-touch function on all 4 windows and the power folding mirrors work perfectly. Thanks to all that made suggestions. I lucked out with the car dealer. They even noticed one of my suspension brackets is not too well and ordered me one for a warranty replacement. Of course I've been bringing my R to them for most maintenance so I'm not a new customer so caveat emptor.
