Hi, In OBDEleven I get a report about the TCU as below: --------------------------------------------------------------- 02 Transmission System description: GSG DQ381 Software number: 0GC300012A Software version: 1402 Hardware number: 0GC927711G Hardware version: H06 Faults: No trouble codes found Now when looking at vag flash I can see that for this transmission type ( hardware and software ) The following software versions are available: I booked in my car with an audi dealership to have my TCU updated because of a couple issues regarding going into false neutral (exactly as described in TSB:37 20 00) See:https://www.tsbsearch.com/Audi/37-20-00 I was also concerned that I might be subject to the 34L4 recall on the DSG given the hardware/software versions matching with cars in the US and UK that are effected by the recall. Anyway I have since picked up my car from the dealership who said they updated the TCU software. But according to OBDEleven ... i'm still on version 1402 - It was version 1402 before i took the car into the dealer so it looks like nothing has changed. Am I missing something or has the apprentice service tech at the dealership not actually updated the software?? I would expect to see this change in OBDEleven: From: Software version: 1402 To: Software version: 1631
Are my expectations incorrect? Thanks

calum: Hi. Shert answer is "not necessarily"!! If you navigate to the TCU on this car and then select the Info option, should see a more fullsome list of the identification variables for the module - including the elements that you describe in your post. Notice amongst the list of identifiers, the labels - Software Number
- Software Version
So, I'm not sure what has happened in this particular instance, however the upgrade may well have retained the same Software Number - but the Software Version number may have changed.
If you are at all concerned - why not ask the dealer to confirm the exact upgrade details for which you paid your hard earned money?

Hi Don! Yep so I took a backup from OBDEleven before the car went in. and then i took a backup again after to compare Neither the 'software number' nor 'software version' had changed I'm not 100% sure if the ODX file is the TCU rom file? but that also still has the same name and version Under the advanced identification section there is a field 'workshop code and last update programming of sw module' The date is 20/11/17 - my car is plated as built Nov/17 - so that seems to match up. There is also a 'versions of software module' with: Bootloader : 6805 Application : 0014 data record : 0002 These values have also not changed. I'm feeling like they just perhaps reset the TCU and ran some adaptations rather then updating the software as i had requested. Unfortunately by the time i got the car home they had closed. Have to wait til monday to try and get in touch with them. Thanks for the reply
