I've got VW Tiguan MK2 with MIB3 media system. I've activated this feature as instructed in the application, but CarPlay only works for me with cable. When my multimedia system start-up after ignition, I'm getting a message the App-Connect is not available - do you know anything about it? can I enable it using coding?
Thanks in advance.

Run the app on my Tiguan R (2023). Wireless options came up in the car settings menu. However, wireless is not activated. So, this app is useless and 100 credit disappeared.

Did you have the bonnet/hood open?

To be honest, with a 2023 car I though it should work without any coding. Android Auto does, and it's essentially the same thing

I fully agree with you. If the hardware is there and I have already paid for it, there is no reason to disable it. By the way, did you manage to get this app work with the bonnet opened?

But Poor VW/BWM/MERC Have decided that they can make more money from charging you extra.
The online Car Shop is how they see future Profits.

On some Vw's and Audi's have been testing it for awhile you have to connect for wireless carplay etc through wifi and not bluetooth. And then some mib3 units depending on the version does not work at all no matter what the coding is, have been testing this for months on different models we get in. Mib2.5 on the vw's you have to have sim in the car for it to work on some firmware.

Wireless CarPlay AND Android Auto both use Wifi to connect the head unit to the phone. The Car/Headunit acts as a hotspot that the phone connects to in order to show the apps, maps and play hi-res music, that would have previously been done via a cable My car is MY22 and the functionality has been around since 2020 (on various models)

My problem is that, when I run the app and then reboot the head unit, wireless settings come up in the menu but wireless can not be selected (activated). I used to have wireless CarPlay for three years on my previous car (Passat R-Line, 2020). You need to have both bluetooth and wi-fi activated on your phone in order to connect to the car. Bluetooth connection makes the wifi connection between your phone and the head - unit (transfers log-in credentials etc.). Then the wifi connection works for the CarPlay.
I believe that my Tiguan do not have required hardware to use wi-fi. Therefore, I have already bought a CarLinkit 5.0 and now I have wireless CarPlay in my Tiguan.

Im in the same boat as all of you. Activated it in the app, spent 100 credits and it didn't work. Contacted support and never received any feedback with regards to the credits wasted...

I also have this issue! I was able to purchase the credits through the VAG app and apply it to my system - 2023 Audi Q3 It looks like all goes through successfully after following the instructions but then after selecting wireless CarPlay on my phone, it gives an error and says it’s not compatible. No other instructions/settings to change that would get this working wirelessly, right?

I managed to make it work on Android. I enabled 5GHz WiFi under the multimedia control unit, and I changed Android Auto settings on my android phone to start automatically (not default)

In 2021 model Tiguan vehicle, I could not activate wireless car Play. Wifi option comes up but cannot be activated. You had the same problem, did anyone find a solution? It finds version 0841 as the new version. updating the multimedia can be a solution? there is also no wifi_client_mode_2_GHz option

This is what I did using android auto, not sure if it will work on carplay. Under control units, multimedia, adaptation, choose 5_ghz_wlan and enable it. Then go to android auto settings, forget car and then make Start Android Auto Automatically = Always. In 2021 model Tiguan vehicle, I could not activate wireless car Play. I have already activated the 5_ghz_wlan option you mentioned, but it did not work.
