Hi all. 2019 Gtd General newbie to obd11 so chose to use the apps instead of long coding. I have dynamic headlights that move around when the camera sees oncoming vehicles at night. But once the ignition is turned off then on you have to turn it on via the stalk every time. There is an app on obd11 which I thought would fix that. High beam assist which turns out its just demoted my headlights to now being in high beam or not. The beam moving away from other vehicles has stopped and the dynamic lights option on the infotainment has been replaced with high beam assist? I understand its a total knobjockey moment on my part. Is there a way to retrieve my dynamic headlights via obd11. Thanks all. An embarrassed bellend.

Ian: Hi.
This is a salutary reminder to all reading your post of EXACTLY the problem with One-Click-Apps - and it's the reason why I NEVER use them. OCAs make changes to the car's coding that are NOT disclosed.
If you had made a back-up of the central electrics module before implementing the OCA, you could compare it to the current values. But, I suspect that you didn't do this (because I suspect that you weren't aware of the requirement)
Alas, only the deities on the OBD11 mother-ship know what changes the OCA made to the car. I suggest that you contact the help-desk

Hi Don.
Thanks for the reply. You are right unfortunately. Although I've had obd11 for some years I've only ever used it for diagnostics so I'm a new user to modifying. I figured the one click apps were the safest as obd11 themselves had created them. How do I contact the help desk? Thanks.

Ian: Yes, alas I acknowledge that my reply provides little solace for your post - but unfortunately, there ain't no other way (AFAIK) So, assuming that you are using the iOS operating system- do this:
- Fire-up OBD11 software - no need to connect to the dongle
- On the Home screen, select Other tab (it's on the extreme lower side)
- Select Help
- Select Send us a message - follow the prompts

Hi Don.
I've been given this possible solution to the problem but it looks a little complicated for my inexperience. Plus its in German and I'm not sure translate will do a good enough job of decifering it. Dynamisches Fernlicht (DLA) - Freischaltung (ab MJ 2017) STG 09 > Zugriffsberechtigung: 31347 > Anpassung > …
> Kanal "Fernlicht_Assistent-Erweiterte Fernlichtsteuerung" > Wert auf "AFS: FLA: Fernlicht (GLW:MDF)" ändern
> Kanal "Fernlicht_Assistent-Assistenzfahrlicht: Empfindlichkeit per BAP einstellbar" > Wert auf "vorhanden" ändern
> Kanal "Fernlicht_Assistent-Menüsteuerung Fernlichtassistent" > Wert auf "vorhanden" ändern
> Kanal "Fernlicht_Assistent-Menüsteuerung Fernlichtassistent Werkseinstellung" > Wert auf "vorhanden" ändern
STG A5 > Codierung > …
> Byte 19 > Bit 0-3 auf "00 Zusatzfernlicht nicht verbaut" setzen
> Byte 19 > Bit 4-7 auf "30 Ausführung Scheinwerfer (für FLA): LED mit var. Lichtverteilung" setzen
> Byte 21 > Bit 5-7 auf "40 Dynamischer Lichtassistent (DLA)" setzen
STG 4B > Codierung > …
> Byte 10 > Bit 6 aktivieren ("Maskiertes Dauerfahrlicht (MDF) aktiv/freigeschaltet")
> Byte 10 > Bit 7 aktivieren ("Gleitende Leuchtweitenregulierung (GLW) aktiv/freigeschaltet")
> Byte 08 > Bit 1 aktivieren (wenn Fehler in MFA auftritt)
> Byte 09 > Bit 4 aktivieren (wenn Fehler in MFA auftritt)
Nach Abschluss der Codierung muss eine Grundeinstellung der Scheinwerfer durchgeführt werden.

Ian: hmm........ where specifically were you get "this possible solution to the problem"?
There is a real risk here that making further modifications to the car's coding without understanding the coding changes wrought by the original OBD11 OCA - is tantamount to digging yourself a deeper hole.
Of course the decision is entirely yours - I'm happy to explain your "possible solution" if you want to proceed!!

Hi Don. It's from an obd11 fb group. I agree with you hen e I havent done anything about it as yet. I've also heard back from my request at the obd11 help desk. With a possible 1 click solution which wasn't available before. So I'll have a look at that shortly. Cheers.

Hi Don I've had a response from the Obd team and they've opened the particular app up for me to return it to original settings. So hopefully it's all fixed now. I'll have a look later when it gets dark. Thanks.
