No because light adaptions are locked and they probably blocked just to don't see anymore these christmas lights.

There is a way to enable the lights to have a cool sequence when you approach the car. This is not the specific urban joke mentioned. See my next comment on this post

Hello mitigating , Can you please give more details (maybe a video or a picture) of the results for the above coding? Thank you

So there's three things here and I'm not sure how they are connected 1. IQ presentation mode - This has the lights move up and down then sweep left to right. This occurs when you turn the lights on manually and if you have the approach animation mode set. I don't think it happens when the lights turn on automatically Module 4B Presentation mode (This may already be Enabled). Presentation run dynamic AFS light (this will tilt the headlights up and down) (This may already be Enabled). Reference run activation effect (this will switch on the animation as seen above). Set reference run start condition to Motor start (or similar). Ignition can cause problems. from (https://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/42306-mk8-iq-lights-presentation-mode-coding/) 2. Change on approach so that lights go on in a certain order, one after another- In the vehicle settings there's an option to have the lights turn on when you approach the car. You can enable an additional setting "animation" that on NAR cars will have different lights turn on in sequence. \ Some of these settings, like the bottom two sections might already be active on a NAR car. 3. Add additional lights to the sequence programmed above- This is still something I don't understand except I think that The above coding of the "events" defines the sequence? So for example if you want the front light bar to be a part of the sequence you would code this to the light. There's also an Ambiente Exterior 5 which I think puts the light in a different part of the sequence. Basically what I think happens is any light that has "Ambiente Exterior 4" coded to it will turn on at the "Ambiente Exterior 4" part of the sequence. Name: Leuchte 31 AMBL 1 C61 Lichtfunktion D 31: Original value: nicht aktiv New value: Ambiente Exterior 4 Dimmwert DEF 31: Original value: 0 New value: 127 Name: Leuchte 32 AMBL 2 C35
[ Same as above except 31 is 32 ] I really need to spend some time organizing this. Also if you are in a Euro spec car I think the light id is different. EDIT: I reworded this to remove the word "animation" that's a poor description of what this does. It turns lights on in a sequence as you approach. This has nothing to do with Urban joke mode.

Thank you mitigating for all the above details. I've tried the coding from Section no: 2 on my SK Octavia NX, and even if the 2 options (one for enable light on approach and the other for type - animation or classic) are now available and enabled in Vehicle Menu(under CHO/LHO submenu), there is no animation "played". Is still any coding that I'm missing somewhere?

I wasn't too clear when I jumped in with a possible solution. This doesn't let you do the "Urban joke" and by "animation" I mean a sequence. So if you are looking for a button that let's you run this sequence that's not possible. It only happens when you approach the car, approach is set to on, and the type is set to animation.
It also is just turning on each light in order but maybe with time we can figure more out to make it fancier.

Hello mitigating , Thank you for quick reply. To clarify, I'm NOT interested about the "Urban Joke" here! To be honest I don't quite like it! I'm more than happy than I'll make the animation(sequence) to work when approaching the car. BUT, as I mention in my previous post, with both "animation" and "approch" options enabled in MMI, no sequence is seen on rear or headlights. In fact, none of the lights come up. Have you tested in both dark and daylight? Best Regards.

What is MMI?
I believe I had the rear inner lights working but the rear outer are locked. I have to verify this again but I believe I added "Ambiant exterior 4" or 5 to the DEF or GHI sections of the rear lights.
I'm sorry I have to to do it again and reprogram it which I'm planning to

Hello mitigating, MMI = Infotainment System = MIB3
If the animation is applicable only to rear lights (I thought in first place that this coding tweak will also add a sort of animation to matrix headlights too!), the above coding it doesn't make sense to be added on my car, because with Rear Top Led there is a standard animation already in place. Please see the below video for more details:
Thank you

See my next comment on this post This isn’t true you can get your matrix headlight activated here in USA and it cost around $350 i believe it’s been awhile since I had mine activated

Keep in mind that although you can activate them in the USA, they are not street legal, because the functionality was never homologized for street use there. If a cop notices the DLA functionality, you will be in trouble.
