I think you should have 'blind spot monitor' and 'rear traffic alert' for this function to work.

Hello floppik, What version is yours A5 - front camera module? Based on the instructions:
Control unit A5 (front camera) at least 5WA980653D software version 3400
Can you please check and post here the software version? Thx |

My Octavia has:
- Travel Assist
- Side Assist
- ACC
- Park Assist (with the side sensors)
What I tried already was coding HC_variante from variante 2 to variante 5. In the head-up display and cockpit the white arrows appeared when there was room to overtake. When I use the indicator, it shows the way for a second and then stops. Will try the coding above this weekend. Based on the minimum required software version, it is probably not gonna work.

I just tried the coding above:
1. Control unit 09 - Adaptations
- BCM driver assistance turn signal functions:
- Travel_Assist_Blinken: Active -> succeeded
2. Control Unit 44 – Long Coding
- Qfk_ma_function: Active -> did not work
3. Control unit A5 – Long Coding
- HC_Variante: Variante_3 -> succeeded
- HC_mob_line: Coded -> succeeded
Nothing was different compared to just changing HC_variante from variante_2 to variante_5. In the infotainment the travel assist menu is still "not available" and the arrows are visible, but no steering intervention happens.

Control unit: A5 Driver Assistance System description: MQB MFK 3.0 Software number: 5WA980653C Software version: 3302 Hardware number: 5WA980653 – Long Coding: - HC_Variante: Variante_3 -> succeeded - HC_mob_line: Coded -> succeeded Now the option to activate the new function is available as a submenu in the Travel Assist menu, but "Function not available!" is displayed when I've tried to toggle and to activate it. I try it, when I start travel assist, I can see arrow And I try to change lane, "auto lane changing" nothing work! I expect this function will work, but it doesn't...   ( www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/lane-change-assist.472570/) Can anyone help? I think I very close to active this function, just missing some setting |

A5 Software 3400 or newer is mandatory. All earlier versions are showing the bap-entry in the infotainment, but will always error out with "not avaliable".
Funfact: 3400 also comes with new travel assist logics, remembering the state of the TA

Technically, you can flash it with ODIS-E. Obtaining a license and the needed files and datasets is a problem.
Another idea is to buy a new 5WA980653D camera which comes with 340x software and let VW do CP, Swap and calibration.
Not sure about the dataset then, but I know of people being able to fetch them by the VIN in case there is a problem.
I have tried the feature for quite lot of Kilometers. Its nice and definitely something to get stunned passengers, but its definitely not a game changer or anything I miss after switching to a Passat without that feature.
The change is done rather slow and it is strict regarding hands of detection. In most cases I assisted the assistant to switch lanes ;-)

Hello everyone, I'll tell you my experience; I own a Cupra Formentor my22 hybrid VZ 245cv equipped with all the required accessories and therefore XL package and 12" H58 type display as regards infotainment and assistance systems (i.e. the richest package available) and I do not have the lane change function. I checked all the long coding of the A5 unit of another formentor my23 also with XL package, 12" H58 type display therefore identical to mine in every way, equipped with the "CHANGE LANE" function and only two parameters they differ from mine, for the rest all the A5 long coding are identical: HC variant of the my23 is set to 5 while on mine it is set to 2, HC WARN INTENSITY on the my23 is set to "NO SETTING" while on mine it is set to " Setting over menu” STOP
I tried to change the value from 2 to 5 of HC VARIANT and the function appears in the assistant menus but it is not selectable. unfortunately the code of my A5 is 5WA980653C while on my23 the final letter is "D". I only changed the value of HC VARIANT forgetting to also try to change the value of HC WARN INTENSITY but I don't think anything will change
