Hello, I have a 2018 7.5 EU GTI with PXC headlights.
I was wondering if there are parameters that can be changed with OBD11 to make high beams more "reactive" when I activate them manually (no high beam assistant).
My perception is that they are slow; before I had a mk6 GTD with xenon headlights and they were way faster (almost instantaneous).
Thanks, Luca

PXC? I am aware of Two-Bulb Halogen, LED with magnetic shutters and LED with Servoshutters (DLA of MDF, as you like).
For all of them I see no way to speed them up (in case there were no very dumb adaptions made to fade them): Halogen do have a very short heatup phase with lesser light produced. "Classic" LEDs with magnetic shutters have an always on high beam, but a shutter blocking the light. A magnet pulls the shutter for high beams at a high speed. I see no way to speed this up without serious modifications. Same applies to DLA/MDF headlights. Here we also have an always on shared light source, two shutters for each headlights. As these shutters are to be set into multiple positions, they are using motors to move them accordingly. These are singnificantly slower than the magnetic shutters, but also there is way to speed them up.
People have reported that with driving profiles equipped all dynamic lights are more responsive overall when set to Sport, but I doubt that personally, as we are working close to system's limits.
In the Passat, they circumvented this with an extra high beam fixture not using any mechanical parts, but that does not apply to Golf I am afraid.

Never heard of these abbrevations, but when importer needs to imagine new letter codes, whatever
As pointed out, the reaction speed of the high beam shutters is different between the different versions.
