I have had a similar conversation to this one in another thread (this was not the point of the original thread though - just a suggestion to read off line) I want to read a specific back up unit's text, off line. I went through the routine of backing up a specific unit (Display) got all the way to generating log, but then i get no offer to name the file and probably because of that, no email destination to send to. I have inserted an email address already in my profile settings I'm not the only one apparently ... I have seen a few similar questions...but no answers yet. Someone said they could find something in the app's cache but where is that located and what to look for. any help appreciated

Not had time to look yet but the file name of the file on Android will be history.txt
Have you tried going to normal history (not the control unit specific one) and filter on Backup.
Then try emailing that file (if you have lots of individual backups then try using the date filters to reduce the numbers.
MyCar/History/Use Filter (upside down triangle) and clear all and then select backup.

Just one other thought, you know you can view all the data offline (eg not connected to the car) from the backup in your history section.
You dont need to email it to read the information.
Obviously that is using OBD11 Viewer not an export into the tool (excel/text reader) of your choice.

I didn't find the file on the phone but....
update and lowers head in shame!
my mentioned this problem in another thread of not being able to email the text of backups with my android phone (which is still true) I forgot that I put the app also on my Samsung (also Android) tablet.. used the app only once on that and promptly forgot about it... Playing the tablet just now; thought.. 'try it'!
Damn if it didn't do exactly as advised by others... lesson learned.
so... try another device

You should raise this as a bug on the release thread, I am guessing its to do with the phone/android version not working with OBD11 Correctly. It has been a problem in the past and in fairness to OBD11 the Android/Phone people dont advise OBD11 they just have to fix the issue once users advise them.
