Hi all
Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but I've searched everywhere and can't find the solution.
Firstly - I'm new to obdeleven, so I have spent most of my time getting used to the app and features. If something seems obvious for anyone, please explain it to me like a dummy.
I have a 2014 MK7 GTI and currently, the mirrors unfold ONLY when the ignition is on. They fold as normal when the car is locked, but having owned 4 mk7 Golfs previously this is the first one I've owned that behaves this way, so I know something ain't right.
Does anyone know what setting I need to check, adjust, and where to find it to correct the car to unfold when the key fob unlocks the car?
Cheers

pow pow, Check the setting "Signal mirror fold" in STG 9 adjustments. "Active" should be unfolding when door is opened, "not activated" unfolding with ignition.

Yes. I am from Germany and am using a translator. Therefore, the terms may differ slightly.

Yes. I am from Germany and am using a translator. Therefore, the terms may differ slightly. I've checked here and can't find anything for signal at all, I've read that in access control 2 there should be a section for unfolding when unlocked but there isn't one showing at all.

So access control 2 is correct (see photo). This is from a MK7 MY 2016. Your model year may be different. A newer control unit is installed on mine that no longer supports folding out until "when the ignition is on". Check all settings for mirror folding and their control twice in access control (see settings). The function may still be in "long coding" for your model year. VW has gradually shifted many functions from "long coding" to "adaptation", so that many new models only deal with "adaptation". But I can't help you with that, because I only have information from model year 2016.

Hey I’ve got a similar issue but different in some way. I’ve retrofitted the electric foldable mirrors and coded the new ecu at the drivers side. The passengers one is the old one cause it’s already highline. Everything works fine - mirror lowering in reverse gear, entry lights, FOLDING when the car is being secured via the wireless key. What’s the problem you may ask. Some like the author stated have the issue that the car is either folding the mirrors via remote or via ignition. My Golfs mirrors are folding with remote when opening the car and folding automatically again. Then folding again with ignition. I think there is something not coded right in the BCM. But as you just said the adaptations in the golf 7 vFL look different than yours from a facelift golf 7. I’ve got „funK Spiegel anklappen“ in Adaptations in “Zugangskontrolle” set to “active”. But nothing like your facelift “signalisierung anklappen” or sth similar . Long coding in OBD11 is not labeled so I don’t know if there’s something to check in the 09 that helps my problem . I’ve got a similar driver side ecu with 593 in the end so the two Ecus won’t differ from another. Both are from golf 7. Do you have any thoughts on this? Flashing the BCM would be an option maybe …

mathi9020010What model year is your Golf? My screenshots relate to model year 2016, i.e. vFl. With older models, you could set the mirrors to open again either when you "unlock" the vehicle or when you "switch on the ignition". Unfortunately, it no longer works with my model year; Control unit 9 has been functionally modified. I can't say how it is with other model years and I have no experience with retrofitting. Unfortunately, I can't contribute anything to flashing control units either. If the adjustment options cannot be found in the images, it may be due to software/hardware incompatibilities. Don't forget, if the coding/adaptation is correct, there is also an entry in the "Car" menu of the MIB to activate mirror folding.

My model is from 2014 vFL.

I checked my records again. So the settings I posted above were also valid in the older model years like yours. Here I put the instructions for the mirror folding again completely. It should therefore also apply to your vehicle.
Compare with your work steps.
So it must also be set there in "Adaptation", and all settings should be possible under "Access Control 2". The applicable lines in my first image above are quite a bit lower than those in the second image for general activation.
Fold in mirrors via FB long
. STG 09 chosen
2. Access Permission tab
3. Enter code 31347
4. Customization tab
5. Select "3341 Access Control 2" in the pull-down menu
6. Line 24 "Radio mirror folding mode" Stored value "by look command via remonte control key"
7. Change value via pull-down to "by convenience operation via remore control key"
8. Click "Save".
9. "Save fitting data?" - Click on "save".
Mirror reset with ignition
Continue with module 09 electronic control unit
Confirm security code 31347 (or 20103) whichever is correct for your car.. Enter Mirror Adjustment Customization
In radio mirror folding mode,
Set value "by look command via remote control button"
In radio mirror folding, target value "activated"
In the radio mirror folding menu control, target value "activated"
If you want them to open when the IGN starts, instead of when the controller/door opens In signalling_mirror-fold, setpoint "Not activated"
If you still can't find it, then something probably doesn't match. Take a look at what the web has to offer about your hardware/software versions. The BCM is available in several "performance levels", depending on which functions are to be implemented in the car. If your mirror electronics are "high", then the BCM should probably also be used "high"; but without guarantee. But I can't help you with the hardware/software of the BCM.
Another hint: It's nice to use German (which is my mother tongue), but unfortunately English is desired as the forum language here. At the beginning I had overlooked that too and promptly received penalty points.

Hello, I also have a problem that I would like to solve as soon as possible. During today, I changed my car battery and now my CD radio doesn't work anymore. It tells me to add a code and I don't have it. Can something be done about this problem? I want to mention that I don't have the car book.I searched on the internet and realized that I need the serial number of the tape recorder. I opened the tape recorder and it had the serial number: SEZAZ1HJ7202491 . While I was looking on the Internet how I could find out the radio code, I found this site. Has anyone used it so far or not because I would like to use it myself but I don't want to be tricked radiocodefinder.com/seat-radio-codes
