Hi everyone. I recently purchased a 2004 Touareg V8 and it is my first Volkswagen. I am totally new to VW scanning devices (e.g. OBDeleven which I recently bought) and have only learned the very basics so far. However I have no idea about coding and adaptations though I am quite familiar with bits, bytes, and hexadecimal, hence I'm sure I can learn.
What is the difference between "coding" and "adaptation"? How do I get started with learning these things? Do folks at OBDeleven offer Coding 101 or Adaptation 101 classes?
same for me. Totally new to this world. Just got the pro version for a Seat Leon. Connected the device. Saw a long list of items, and don't have a clue where to start from. I am looking for a list of: - what can info can be seen with the device out of the box (no additionnal app) - what info can be seen with additional app
- what change can be performed out of the box - what change can be performed with additional app
I could not find any start-up guide, but only details on very specific questions...
I bought the device for several needs: - remove Video in Motion restriction (I understand this requires an external app) but as i don't have a Mirror Link compatible phone yet I will wait - close all openings (windows + roof) when locking the car - folding mirrors when locking the car (should would as standard but sales rep told me it does not work in France but is ok in Spain... - tilting mirrors when in reverse gear (stand option does not work)
So before getting lost in some details, I really need an overview. I was hoping the app itself would be sufficient, but clearly not the case, and I want to make sure I do not do anything that would cause problems to the car
This part of the app is to ensure there are no issues with the car but does nothing to change any values.
Now you get into the Pro part of the app.
Firstly to explain about the setup of the various parts of the VW Group have created a number of different Control Modules (each model / variant can be different) So when you take the menu option from the Scan screen you will see all the Control Modules that are active in your car and if there are no errors a green light or Red Light if there are errors.
Full list of modules with ones on my 2014 Cupra highlighted in Blue just so you can see how many different setups there are across the years/range.

1/ Admin Part
The Info Screen for you car will show you the engine details (which it picks up from database) but you can add all the Extras you have in the Equipment section and add your own picture and name details full details can be found in this posting obdeleven.proboards.com/post/6919
The History screen will show you all the changes you have made to your car via OBD11 read here obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/97/history but make sure you go through all the screens as there is more info further on.
2/ Making Changes
So you want to make some changes to your car - go check out the APPS section of your car and you will see all the items that an app can do for you, the apps cost you credits which you can get for free check out this page obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/1935/credit-system or if you dont have enough you can buy more credits (bottom of the article)
Folding mirrors with a touch control Does not work on MY17 Cars see here obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/1152/touch-folding-mirrors With this mod, mirrors will fold without having to be continually pressing the button on the remote. 1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347) So in English you will select control 09 and it will give you a list of options. Some changes require a security code to be entered (31347 in this case) you will get a popup box just enter the number. 2 - Adaptation From the list select Adaption (which as its name implies allows you to use the adaption part of the system (there are others but you may get to that later)) 3 - Select - Control Access 2 Some cars this is Access Control 2 From the Adaption menu you will again have options so select Control Access 2 (you can search for these) 4 - Sub - Funk modus spiegelaklappung Some cars this is Funk Spiegelanklappung Modus That in turn will bring up another list and here you will search for one of these names. 5 - Change value By command via remote control look key Some cars this is by look command via remote control key Having found the name you then select and change the option as described here.
Having done all that you then have a green tick box (bottom right of the scree) select that and the change will be saved or if there is a problem then error message show.
dv52 (Australia): @_Piotr: AFAIK, there are no PIDs that are directly accessible by the user in OBD11. The Parameter-IDs are incorporated into the software options. For example, service mode 03 (Show stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes)is accessed in "Fault"

senortoasty2000: Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows how to use the OBDeleven to make it so the headlights I ordered (Ed's LEDS)have the amber LED turn signals always on. I have a 2017 base model GTI

majestic12: Hellol everyone, does anybody has also needle sweep lag ? its not smooth on my virtual cockpit. where can i report this ?
May 29, 2020 14:19:50 GMT
testeronline: majestic12 I would suggest you let VW/AUDI Know as this is there software. Just as an aside what car do you have as I did not think the virtual screens supported this so just trying to increase my knowledge
May 29, 2020 14:33:02 GMT
dv52 (Australia): testeronline: needle sweep can be enabled on some AID displays. In majestic12's case, I suspect the facility is getting delayed because of all of the other start-up activities that happen on ignition switch-on (but I'm guessing)

audia4b8: Hi, I have the same problem, did you manage to solve it? I have been struggling with this for a month and I also have no way of changing it as they write above. It is not possible to change 0 - 1 and vice versa. Through the application and points also does
May 30, 2020 5:58:23 GMT
majestic12: Yea i though so it would be the processes that are starting up when turning on the ignition, maybe they can fix it by doing needle sweep when turning the engine on. Would be cooler to me when starting the engine you see the needle sweep

May 31, 2020 5:20:24 GMT
testeronline: vwjap, I just checked on the Leon Forums and currently V1 and V2 of the dash does not support needle sweep, however it looks like v3 (as fitted in the Atteca) does. Lucky I have the old dials and they do support it (not that I ever look at it )

sgt1297: blackfist13: is there a problem with the car? If not reset all the error codes and see if they come back. If you have issues with the car go through each symptom using the fault codes as a reference. Make model and year?
