I had a new battery put in by a shop after having my car fixed. When they coded the battery, my rear-inner running light does not come on. Turn signal and brake lights come on. I can’t seem to figure out how to reverse this so that the light illuminates. OBDeleven_Log2023.txt (53.44 KB)

charlietango84 : Hi - post-up screenshots of Leuchte23SL HLC10. To be clear, I need to see the values for ALL 19 x adaptation channels

Hmm........ First, your settings are for LED tail-lights. It's not clear to me from your picture - are the tail-lights LED type on this car? The values look odd - but I wouldn't have thought that they would result in the lamp not illuminating. Maybe look at the settings on Leuchte24SL HRA65. This is the Leuchte-set for the equivalent lamp on the right-side of the car, which I assume is working OK. With the exception of the following 3 x channels: - List item Leuchte24SL HRA65-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 24
- Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lampendefektbitposition 24
- Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion C 23
the remaining 16 channels should have the same values

I notice all the values are the same, Minus the three you specified. Are you able to tell me what the values are suppose to be for each of those three? Do you see anything odd about the values reflecting from the right side values I provided?

hmm......... the 2 x Leuchte-sets look complementary, so I doubt that the fault is in these channels. My problem is that I'm not familiar with the particular tail-lights in your picture - so I'm guessing which Leuchte-set is aligned to the lamp in question.
If you have made a back-up of the central electrics module - post-up a copy (as an attachment)

"the shop"? OK - I had assumed that the Leuchte-sets values came from your device. Whoever made changes to your car will have a copy of precise details of the amendments in the History part of OBD11.
Access to the History records doesn't require that the car is connected to the OBD11 dongle - the records are stored with the user account and they are identified by each car's VIN. Here's an example of a History record:
Adaptation Control unit: 09 Central Electrics Name: Leuchte1BLK VRB20 Values: Lichtfunktion B 1: Old value: nicht aktiv New value: Tagfahrlicht
As you can see - the record identifies both the "old" and "new" value.
Can you get a copy of the records for this car?

OK - Your first post said that the "..................shop after having my car fixed. When they coded the battery, my rear-inner running light does not come on".
I understood these words to mean that "the shop" performed the normal coding amendments to the module that OBD11 calls "Gateway" (i.e. the module @ address hex19) to tell the car that a new battery has been installed.
As you can read - the History data that "the shop" provided contains NO coding changes to this car. Now, I'm not suggesting that "the shop" didn't make any coding changes - I'm just saying that no change records are included in the History log (this is a simple factual statement based on the clear evidence in the History data) So, there could be a couple of reasons for the absence of change records in the log - but I won't go into these at this point. If you want to pursue this fault - I need answers to ALL the questions below (emphasis on "ALL")
- I asked before, but I didn't receive a response - "are the tail-lights LED type on this car?"
- What country is this?
- Was the problematic lamp operating correctly before "the shop" "coded the battery" on this car?
- You say that "my car [was] fixed" by "the shop" - what was the principal reason for taking the car to "the shop"?
- Please ask "the shop" how they made the coding changes for the new battery
- Please confirm that "the shop" made NO other coding changes to this car
Finally, my previous reliance on Leuchte-set data depends entirely on my correct identification of the assignment of these Leuchte-sets to the physical lamp on the tail light fitting.
The data already provided shows that the 2 x Leuchte-sets activate the following 3 x light functions: - Parking light (maybe you call this "Side Light", or "Position Light")
- Coming-home and Leaving -home
- Single Side Parking Light (i.e. the lamp on one side of the car stays illuminated whenever the turn-signal stalk is left in the Left/Right position and the ignition key is removed)
I'm aware that the left-side lamp doesn't work - but do the 3 x functions above operate on the matching right-side lamp? If not - which of the lamps on the picture in your first post aligns with the light that operates as above?
