Hi all,
I have a 2008 golf mark 5 1.9 tdi, when I got it the barrel for the key was damaged so the key would not go in, so I got a new key barrel for the ignition and the door, but now when I try to start the car the immobiliser code comes on and the engine cuts out. I still have the original key and barrel, as well as the new one, which isn't a brand new key, it is a used one from one of the cars my brother broke. Can I use obd 11 to program the usable key to the car? If so how?
The old key is still working on the car to unlock it remotely, this doesn't matter as I can just swap the top part of the keys, it's the immobiliser that I need to program to accept the new key

You can remove the transponder, and use the transponder in the new key, Clone transponder and install to new key as well, Other wise you need the pin code, Not exactly sure if obd11 will read it out of the cluster for you or you need to eeprom read the cluster for pin
