Been trying to get my Navigation Plus to go into the engineering menu following this one
It doesn't work.
Basically this on the Obdeleven video
1 - Module 5F - Electronic Information 1. Code (20103) 2 - Select CHANGE SERVICE 3 - development mode. 4 - Adaptation 5 - Development Mode 6 - Change to On.
You hold onto the Menu button and nothing happens. It should go one step on if the Plus is like the MIB2High. Not sure what standard units would do.

Tell, I have tried this on my MK3 Leon and it works fine, what I would say is the code for Leon shows two extra lines.
Engineer mode or Green Menu With this mod, we activate the engineer mode. Vallais be careful not to roll. 1 - Module 5F - Electronic Information 1. Code (20103) 2 - Select CHANGE SERVICE 3 - development mode. 4 - Adaptation 5 - Development Mode 6 - Change to On. - Restart Infotainment - Hold the Menu button and hold until you exit the menu updates and not let go until you exit the menu engineer.

I did try before Cupra280 with the extra two lines but that didn't work, so kept to the video where they don't do the reset before trying for the menu. Will try again unless I missed something out and get back. Thanks.

Some of the coding for infotainment unit does say it needs to be on and running for a couple minutes before you start applying changes.

You are right cupra280 and the old boy. Just tried it and it went into the engineering menu. Seems I have been in the developers menu option since yesterday. Is there an issue leaving it like this ?. I know some people on other cars were asking for this to be enabled. What I want to do if I had the courage is to try to load up the map update to the SSD via the SWDL menu. There is a Russian thread which appears to say you can. translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=ru&u=https://www.drive2.com/l/464916398250918465/&prev=searchHe has both mib1 & 2. Then I found an Italian thread where someone had issues. So I don't know whether it works or messes up your unit.

With regards to maps there is a very good thread on the cupranet site that from memory you can do some changes to a copy of the maps and then it works but I dont recall any changes via vcds/obd11. Afraid I have not done it so cant confirm if it does work but there are certainly people who say it does. And for the wider audience this is a SEAT issue as they dont provide mapcare so you cant have simple map updates. Cheers Ron

Thanks, Cupra280. Yes I've been following that thread. The SD card fix has been found leaving us SSD people to find our own solution. I've published the Russian research on there and was sort of hoping someone would try it out before me but I had been stuck on getting the unit into the engineering menu till today. As the old boy said I think it took sometime for the development mode to take effect. It did behave strange on taking the car out today playing odd tracks from the SD cards. Perhaps it was building the development area or something.
The only thing with the Russian research is whether it's accurate and the unit hasn't got a modded boot operating system that side steps Mapcare. I'm hoping that the described process side steps it else you end up with a unit that doesn't work. My theory is the md5 key file on the SD card unit is decoded by the standard import with mapcare and allows it whilst the swdl import doesn't test for it. Failing that it messes up your units maps. So for full European download of the mib2high it should or might work. Perhaps there is a market for bricked units in Russia.
