Hi,
I changed something on my multimedia screen with obd11 and than changed it back like it was.
The problem is that before I did any change, everytime that I turned on the ignition I got a welcome to Volkswagen startup screen on my multimedia screen. After doing this change on obd11 even after changing it back like it was, I don't get the welcome message when I turn on the ignition. I only get it when restarting the screen by pressing the button for 10-15 seconds.
How can I change it back to show the welcome message everytime that I turn on the ignition.

hmm...... this is a fairly BIG ask based on the limited information provided! Can you imagine the sheer range of possible causes for this problem?
What was the change that you made? Please provide specific details from your History records

Hi, I have a vw golf mk7 2013 with original mib1 screen.
I tried to code that when I put in reverse that the volume mutes. It didn't work. Changed everything back like it was but no I don't get the welcome to volkswagen startup when I turn on the ignition. Only when manually restarting.

Hi, your answer on facebook really helped me to understand that I haven't messed anything up.
Thank you for your answer but I'm still wondering what changed and if there is anyway to set it like it was.

hmmm............ as I said, not much SPECIFIC information about the changes made in these posts- so lots of vague guesses necessary in responses. Not sure what data was in vwjap Facebook answer (I hate social media) but the most obvious place to look is on Byte 18 in the hex5F module. The software switches on this Byte determine the Start-up screen details on the MIB Don |

They just change the welcome message The settings are 0 welcome to Volkswagen 1 twin drive 2 gtd 3 gti (this actually changes all the blue lines to red) 4 bluemotion 5 egolf 6 R 7 R 8 alltrack 9 gte 10 elegance You have 02 so guessing you have a GTD Just checked my byte 18 is 00 (hex) with no bits checked and a golf gti is 03 (hex) with bit 1 and 2 checked Although I’ve played with mine so it says “welcome to Volkswagen” with a chrome “Golf GT” added  |

Yeah I’ve had mine fit 5 years and like I’ve said before it only restarts 1-2 every couple of weeks,
