Im from AUS and have a Mk7 golf with halogen headlights and have fitted in 7.5R style helix headlights. ive recently notice that 7.5 golfs that come originally fitted with these headlights have their highbeam on during the night as a drl? i was wondering if i could code that in but obviously dim it to about 5-10%

zeljkod : Hmm..... because I'm also "from AUS" and I might be in a car traveling in the opposite direction to you - I'm very nervous about this tweak! I also have no idea if the particular helix high-beam lamps in your headlight fittings will like being operated at a dimmed illumination level.
However and on the basis that it's entirely your liability for changing the high-beam function on this car, maybe the following?
I assume by "on during the night as a drl" - which is really an oxymoron (look it up), you mean that you want the high beams to be illuminated at reduced brilliance when the low-beam lamps are switched-ON. If so, do this
Leuchte8FL LB39
Lichtfunktion C > Abblendlicht links Dimmwert CD 8> low-number
Leuchte9FL RB2
Lichtfunktion C 9> Abblendlicht rechts
Dimmwert CD 7> low-number
Note: "low-number" above is your "5-10%" number
