Hi guys, So something funny happened to me these days. I forgot my window down in my parking place and for no reason at all it began to rain. It rained so hard as I have found like 2 inches of water in the driver's foot well and chair was soaking wet You know, stupidity has a price! I was wondering if we can do anything with the rain sensor. I remember that in the previous Golf MK7.5 you could code something to automatically close the windows and sunroof when it rains. I cannot tell if it was related to the sunroof or not but it could (at least for me) a very useful feature to have.
My car has automatic lights and automatic wiper control (rain sensor installed). It automatically turns on the main(low) beam when it rains.
Thanks a lot.

Yep. You could code it in all MQBs. But you would need a "special" sensor RLFS instead of RLHS. RLFS was replaced very early for MQB. Even with RLFS and correct coding people described that feature not to be reliable.
I doubt that rain closing is possible in the Golf 8.

Regen Licht Feuchte Sensor ( 4 "Eyes" in Sensor) And Regen Licht Helligkeit(?) Sensor (2 Eyes in Sensor) There is plenty of stuff in German avaliable for Skodas, probably even other MQBs.
In the end, people with newer cars stated that the rain closing was only working in a very short timeframe (minutes!). They assumed that the sensor or LIN were turned off, so there was no detection anymore
