Hi all.
I have Octavia 2021 ambition version. With basic version and swing infotainment 8inch screen. No map nor navigation no front assist no lane assist or travel assist. I have rear sensor and rear camera.
In the infotainment screen under the driver assister I found that the cup of tea ' rest assist' I think checked .
But never worked. I never got the rest assist cup of tea warning in my dashbord. I took the car for a trip of 7 hours non stop and take it with very bad condition seek and totally sleepy .
I ask where to check in obdeleven if I have the option if it is installed or can someone copy his car scan to compare

This assistant has worked for me only twice. The first time after 15 hours of driving, the second time after 14 hours. I have never seen more warnings about my fatigue in 1.5 years.

Thx rr163tlt . I've managed to enable that "hot drink" option, but it's gray out in my case and when I try to select it, an error message is displayed "Sorry, function not available!" I also did a diff between your above config (really appreciate for this) and mine, but with not too much luck. Probably OBD11 has some limitation in this area. Maybe someone with more experience can provide any guidance, what I'm missing on my car to enable it? newty , can you provide any inputs from Experts side, please? Thx Cheers |

For this platform, many options and assistants already require SWAP codes, rather than simply activating them through encodings and adaptations. Maybe that's the problem.

I don't think these SWap Codes can be bought from somewhere. They are kept on VW AG servers, as far I know. I'll me more than happy if someone will disagree with this.

Coffee recommendation is controlled by swap, so besides coding and parameters there is a FeC to be generated transferred by VWs servers to the Gateway.
There are 2 legal ways of getting this:
* Buy a new car with it
* Retrofit it in a brand workshop
There is no "fits all" below the counter approach on FeCs in the Gateway and plenty of things to consider.
In the end I might share my experience of 10 years and 250tkm with fatigue detection in MQB:
Does not work for me. There is no benefit.
After more than 4 hours of nonstop driving I am well aware that I need a short stop without that gadget.
On medium trips it always triggered in narrowed lanes in constructions and such, even when well rested and focused, so I would rather blame the road than my driving.
Even when very sleepy, it did not trigger in normal conditions

Ok. I understand that you consider the cup of coffee is a useless feature. But for me :
1- my car has this option from the factory, so normally I don't need swap or other to activate it.
2- I paid extra to have it installed
3- compared to VW and audi that I got ' the cup of tea ' alert come automatically every one hour of continuous driver even if I were not 💤.
So I think that something goes wrong with the car like 10 others things which all were not well finished.
Dealer understand nothing so I prefer to have a look by myself....

The system uses some parameters and hysteresis to detected a distracted driver (at least uses accelerator, brakes and steering).
Of course you can let the workshop rewrite the gateway coding and dataset. Maybe the dataset has not been updated in case this was a retrofit.
There are people being able to trigger it by some steps, but sadly, I never got their instructions.
For me, a common trigger is a construction site half an hour before I come home, where the lanes are going left and right (and people tend to brake and accelerate heavily). When I am on the road for more than 2 hours when passing there, the function is triggered ever second time I am there. But... Works as intended. I am really sorry for people who payed for this

Have to agree with you, i had it on my car and it does not do a lot and when it does its inappropriate cant recall but fairly sure I turned it off.
