GTI 2022 S - no navigation and smaller screen.
Any way to get the CarPlay directions on the driver screen, or the simplified map for that matter. We have had other VW's that did this - but they all had built in nav, even tho the directions and simplified map all came from Caqrplay, no the built in Nav.

I see no solution for this. The transfer of the Navigation information consist of two crucial configurations:
* The dashboard receiving the Navigation BAP-Datagrams (Coding 10/6)
* The Infotainment sending them. This is the showstopper, as these datagrams cannot be configured. With a Navigation capable Infotainment (DM, DP, R2D) they are just broadcasted, and the Composition does not have the routines for this in my opinion.
You could just try to enable navigation in the dash, but I think we are not that lucky to get this to work.

I think we are looking to get android auto Google map or apple play maps directions in the dashboard without native navigation headunit

Yes. I understood.
And no, I see no chance with the Composition. You could enable that Navigation Bit in the Dash, but I doubt there is any routine to send navigation info via BAP in Composition

As far as I know the Composition does not have 5Ghz Wifi so there is hardware missing.

Cheers I have this by default when navigation is active using Apple CarPlay?!
It's not a full fledged map, but just a small "notification style" drop down that "slides down" and shows the next route turn/merge etc. It also shows the name of the road/slipway etc.
Equipment is 10" Discover Media (no NAV) but every other option spec'ed.

Which is exactly what I pointed out earlier.
Ready2Discover, Discover Media, Discover Pro (Big screen) => Yes
Composition (Small screen, dials) => No
