Hi,
Has anyone found a solution to activating the tail light animation for newer software versions? I have version 3691 and the feature does not work and I'm tired of tech support telling me they are working on a solution.

Hi,
yes it worked on mine (SW 3801).
Make the hood open, unlock the (central gateway 09) via SFD and then define under adaptions „Intelligente Heckleuchte verbau“ the value from 1 to 5 (RS3 Animation) and save.

Try to do 6 instead of 5 and give a try if you were 0 not 1

Yes, to verify that the Coding had been carried out correctly, because it did work for me. So I tried with 6 and nothing changed. As you also see from the screenshot, I changed to 5 in February and so far nothing has changed.

Software version 3696
Original Value: 4
Value 5 did nothing, only ambers flash, no brake lights at all
Value 6 DID enable RS3 animation
So yeah, 6 is an option for some people apparently. Give it a try if 5 isn't working.

Hello Guys i have 3620 version , Please have a see my short video about my RS Animation , My value is now 5 and 1 , prnt.sc/IrsIgPfANeMaThe problem is in video as you see , When i lock the car RS animation is work but it is work only for one time , When i unlock the car again normal animation is work , So rs animation work only 1 time  Is there anyone has this problem and issiue ? |

For me RS tail animation works during unlocking by night, daytime only front lights are on so no animation on the tail.
i have activate the DRL scandinavian option by the obdeleven app.
A friend of mine has version 3454 then everythings work, RS animation and tail lights are ON during unlock the car at daytime, i have version 3620.

Why MMI Version should affect coding of taillight which is controlled by BCM?
You need Taillights with PR code 8VP otherwise it won't work. If you're taillights are PR Code 8VA (Basic) or 8VM (only flasher animation) it will never work!

I coded Rs3 animation into the Audi a3 sedan via apps but it doesnt work. the engine hood was open. What is the reason for the code not working? The vehicle is not my own vehicle, I need support on the issue.

Got it working on the Sportback version
- open the hood
- unlock central electrics in SFD
- under adaption search for "intelligente Heckleuchte verbau"
- change value to 5
- reset MMI - hold power button
now it should work when it is dark outside, or cover the light sensor in the window to test it out.
if it doesn't work try value 6 and repeat the steps.
