Im from AUS and have a Mk7 golf with halogen headlights and have recently fitted in 7.5R style helix headlights.
Im wondering how i can keep the DRLs on with the low beam and also for the DRLs to dim down when the low beam turns on

zeljkod : G'day cobber!!! hmm..........the problem with "7.5R style helix headlights" is that they are plug-n-play - meaning that they don't require programming - which means that often they rely on the car having factory settings to work correctly. I telling you this so that you don't get high expectations of success. Nevertheless, we can try changing the Leuchte-programming- if it doesn't work, simply revert values back to their original settings But before making suggestions - I need to see screenshots of Leuchte5 TFL RB32. To be clear, the screenshots should show ALL 19 x adaptation channels

I don’t know how to code it, but I do know it is possible. I did it with the quick one-click app OBD provides called “DRL on with low beam”.

OK - try this: Leuchte4TFL LB4 (left-side DRL) and Leuchte5 TFL RB32 (right-side DRL) - Lichtfunktion E > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)
With this change, the DRL lamps should also illuminate with low-beam lights @ a dimming level of 31% (if the Helix headlights permit). If you want to vary this dimming level, change the value of Dimmwert EF.
However, these DRL lights don't have reflectors with cut-off characteristics for night-time use. So, take care NOT to blind drivers in on-coming cars - because the driver might be ME!!! Don

Do you mean Dimmwert EF value?

oops- my bad!! Yes, I meant Dimmwert EF (I've changed my error so as not to confuse others reading this thread).
Your existing value for this channel is 31 - simply change to suit (with my caution about not blinding on-coming cars)
