I have a similar problem on a Ford van that I am working on at the moment. I have seen this solution on a number of sites if there is no definitive answer from the oBD11 Guys or DTC
Checking the parking sensors with a smartphoneSome parking sensors produce a very weak vibration due to many reasons, and the sound emanating from them is very hard to be captured by the ear. In this case, you can use a smartphone to check if it’s working or not. To test it, you’ll need to activate the voice recorder on your smartphone and then bring the microphone to the parking sensor. Ensure the voice recorder you are using also builds the diagram of the sound frequencies on the screen. If your voice recorder app doesn’t have this feature, you can download one from the app store. Now keep the voice recorder activated for 30 seconds and then check it. If you can see the frequency diagram building and hear the clicking sound, it means your sensor is working fine, but if it doesn’t, then it must be malfunctioning.
i have seen other solutions that say just record the sound (even though you cant here it) but when you play it back there is some sound you can here so again no sound that is the sensor that needs to be looked at.
