the engine preheat application has been added to golf 8, has anyone tried it? What engines is it compatible with?

I believe this is for cars with the "auxiliary heater" device installed. Seems to be popular in Germany

Anybody tried this? The App states on requirements that heater coolant shut-off valve N279 or N147 are needed for this to work, but I have no idea if those are in my car.

Except actively circulates heated engine coolant and uses the vehicles fuel supply to burn for heat.
Vice a passive electric heating element just stuck into the block.
