I’m trying to add cruise control to my 2012 MK6 Golf GTD, I am not fussed about installing the stalks, it’s the coding I’m confused about, after checking Ross tech it turns out that my squib/clockspring may or may not accept cruise control.
Before I purchase & install the stalks, I tried to code it first So I went on OBDEleven, and went on 16 Steering Column unit, and tried to code in cruise control via turn signal stalk, it came back with function not available. Does this mean it won’t accept my coding once I install the stalks, or is is not available because I haven’t actually installed the stalk yet?

You can code it on without the stalks being attached you would normally just get a 00895 code for it not being there, I'm not too sure about the type 2 style but you will need a new steering wheel control module, you also have to code module 1 engine, and module 17 dashboard I have made a post about it ( forum.obdeleven.com/thread/13366/cruise-control )
