Hello all, I bought my car a few years ago and used OBD11 to the best of my knowledge to try to find a way to turn my rain sensing wipers to intermittent wipers. There is only so much I came comfortable with on trying to switch with out the risk of messing anything up. I have a 2010 b8 s4

I thought rain sensor wipes only start if the stalk is one click up and left. If you don't want it on then just leave it all the way down and turn the wipers on manually when you want. I could be wrong...

That's correct. If you want it auto you just keep it one way up and one way down(if off).

I figured out how to switch my rain sensing wipers to intermittent. My rain sensing wipers were horrible as they don't work with the mag chloride on the streets in Colorado so I had to do something. I found this in another thread to swtich to intermittent wipers:
Select Control Unit 09: Central Electrics
Select Subsystems RLS (That bit is a guess on my part as mine is called RLFS)
Select Long Coding
Select Byte 00 (which is where by default it starts)
Tick bit 2 (turn on rain closing active)
Select Bit 3-4 (as i say don't have your car but it looks like these are grouped and then you should have a drop down list to choose what you want.
Save changes by using the Green Tick [End quote - pasted from another thread]
It didn't work exactly the same for me, but I tried various ticks [checkboxes] in byte 00 and I found that placing a check in bit 6 worked for me. I now have intermittent wipers, and they are variable using the adjuster on the wiper lever.
