Hello,
Anyone else experienced this problem? 2012 A3 TDI. Losing power (Lights flicker / dim etc) when braking + the engine idles higher when it heats up. It's intermittent. Audi replaced the battery early November, but the problem returned a week later. Took it back to Audi, and they cannot find any fault codes. Sent me home with no solution. However, I am still getting this re-occurring fault code with OBD (01598 Drive Battery Voltage / Open Circuit).
Here are some other codes I was getting before the battery replacement. Since replacing the battery, the problem is not as severe. Not getting these anymore, but maybe they're related
U1017 (ABS brake control module / Read out DTC / intermittent) 00446 (Function Limitation due to Insufficient Voltage / Intermittent) 00668 (Vehicle Voltage Terminal 30 / Upper Limit Exceeded / Intermittent)
Thanks for reading
Paul

In case anyone is interested, these problems seem to have stopped since I replaced the alternator

I have the same problem on a 2007 VW Golf GTI. I've had the exact same problem for a few years now. First change the battery and I spend a year without problems. Then the alternator was serviced and it went by for a few months with no problem. I changed the battery again since the previous one was more than 4 years old.
Now with a new battery I have spent a few months without failures. But now I have the most recurring problem. I'll try a new alternator.

I have the same problem and I have changed battery a couple of times. the problem goes away for a while and then comes back. I will try to replace the alternator.
