hmm...... sounds normal to me!! Think about it - with the "running lights" turned on, how does the car at the rear know when the driver presses the brake pedal? Answer - the illumination of the "outer running lights" changes from dim to max!!

I thought it was supposed to look like this when the brake pedal is not pressed? The brake light squares should be off.

hmm.......... I suspect that we are having a problem of communication! My understanding from reading your first post is that the Brake light dims when not pressed and fully illuminates when the brake pedal is pressed

No problem, I was trying to say that the brake light is always on (when the headlights are on). So I’m thinking there is something that has to change in the OBD11 app to make the brake light turn off and the parking lights turn on.

I figured out the issue. I modified my harness using the attached picture as a guide. I was able to make the brake light and the parking lights work independently. Along with experimenting with OBD11 adaptations. Now the lights behave like OEM European tail lights when the headlights are on. I did loose rear fogs but I don’t have the switch for them. Maybe I’ll add them in the future but for now they’re disconnected. Everything else works perfectly.
