Seen a number of people asking the same question so put the answers here:

1/ I have a VAG License do I need to buy another one for BMW

No your account works on both VAG and BMW App, you will need two apps but only one license/subscription.

Please note BMW App is currently only a BASIC account even though you may have Pro or Ultimate that is because they don't support manual coding on BMW

2/ Why cant i see the app in Google play

The BMW License has country limitations see here for full list of countries that are supported

3/ Can I code changes in BMW Like I do on my VAG Car

No the BMW App only supports one click app changes

But don't get to excited it wont happen any day soon based on previous experience.

4/ How do i get more one click apps added to my motor

Raise a request here

5/ Are the credits on my account ok to use on both VAG and BMW

Yes the credits are on your account so can be used on Either app.

6/ Cost of Credits

The BMW and VAG App both charge the same amount to buy new credits,

Please note that the cheapest place to buy credits is from the OBD11 website here

Secondly note that buying credits via the app is more expensive on Apple than Android and both are more expensive that direct from OBD11

7/ Why does the BMW App in Android look like IOS Screen

According to OBD11 Messages the plan is to change all apps to look and work the same, Currently BMW App is the first to be changed in time (I am guessing a long way off) VAG Android will be changed as well.

8/ What device do I need for the BMW App

The original dongle only supports VAG and Android

The Next Gen dongle supports IOS and Android for all supported cars but dont forget if you have a Pro or Ultimate VAG License you will only have a Basic BMW one.

9/ Can I add a VAG Motor on the BMW App

No if you connect to a VAG Car via the BMW App you will get a warning message you need to log in via the VAG APP

10/ Is my car supported

Simple answer is check out the supported vehicles page or contact support @ [email protected]

But be aware this is the full list of OCA for you model, when you connect to your car you may not see all these apps as you car does not support it (according to OBD11 Facebook post)

11/ Can is see my BMW/MINI/Rolls Royce in my VAG GARAGE

Yes you can see the cars in your garage and also any one click apps you have used will show up in VAG History

12/ History is now included in the app

13/ How often do I have to pay credits for an app.

Each time you use an app you have to pay, to turn it on you pay, then to turn it off you pay again.

14/ Can I make changes with both Bimmercode and OBD11 BMW

My assumptions is Yes but the OBD11 App will only show the changes you have made using OBD11

15/ My Ultimate Pack gives me free credits can i use them on BMW Apps

No the only option on BMW is the Basic Pack so your free apps on VAG do not transfer to BMW I am afraid.

16/ Where can I find OBD11 Help files

support.obdeleven.com/en/collections/3612341-bmw is the BMW Specific section but under other sections General, Basic and Advanced sections please note the Android Screens are different to the BMW App, This is because they have not updated helpfiles for BMW and over time the VAG Screens will be changed but as of now these help files are not always showing the correct information.

17/ Does the app have Live data

Not currently.

18/ Does the error log have the BMW Equivalent of Freeze Frame Data on errors

Not currently

Just another feature to add to the list.

When you look at supported vehicles in the BMW Section you sometimes get duplicate

The reason according to support

This issue is known, this happens because we have two different vehicle bases for each model in our database, Standard and M.

For some reason, it is not displayed as M and Standard but shows only duplicates.

We will look into this issue when its possible.

OBD11 Have released a number of new apps for the BMW Range.

One of them was the Battery Registration (for fitting new battery) however at the bottom of the app you will see there is a separate app for changing the battery amp or type.

Please be aware although all off the apps show this text support have confirmed the following this morning

Currently, the battery type and the capacity app is only available for F series vehicles.
We are still developing this App for the BMW G series.
This App will be available in the future.

I have passed this information to the responsible team and they will look into how to change the description of the App.

31/3/23 - They have removed this narrative from the cars that dont have this function based on simple quick check.

Currently, while the OBDeleven BMW application is running a beta version on iOS, you will not be able to purchase any credits in the application. Once the original version is released, you will be able to buy credits using iOS.

The credits could be purchased on our OBDeleven website HERE.

Contact our Customer Support via the Help button on your OBDeleven BMW application if you have any issues or questions regarding credits.

This is out of date as we are in full production mode now and you can buy credits through the app but please note both Google and Apple charge VAT + other charges on top so the best place to buy credits is directly from the obd11 web site.
