Hello, I'm guessing if VIM (Video In Motion) app is compatible with all infotainment SEAT Leon 2017 models: - Media System Plus - Navi System - Navi System Plus I expect no issues on all three, but as I have Navi System Plus and also the app is 100 credits, I don't want to do something wrong that could affect badly my infotainment (readed some old issues on 5F module with other devices/cables, not obdeleven and...)... Thanks in advance for your help.

sabeurp a number of people with 2017 facelift models are having issues with the app, i know they have done some fixes but to be sure i would suggest you email support on support@obdeleven.com and or use there help portal at voltas-it.helpshift.com/a/obdeleven/?p=android or via the app (in the help section top right hand corner of the screen you have a direct mail app)

Is the app the only option to enable VIM/Mirrorlink or is there an actual coding for this? 100 credits feels like a bit too much for something that is more like a "fun" option.

apps are just coding wrapped up in a single button push so the simple answer is if you can find the coding you can do it yourself.
What I would say is check the app because on the Audi side the newest cars no longer allow you to code VIM, VAG have removed the ability so please check the app description first as it will tell you if there are any software versions that it does not work on and my understanding is you wont be able to code it.

My understanding is this tool (and VCDS) can't touch Firmware (I think VCP can) but happy to be proved wrong. Based on this article audienthusiasts.com/Articles_VIM.html I am guessing the app does the hard work to confirm the security code. It is still just coding just needs a security code and as you can see in this article there are apps out there that let you calculate the code manually so that you can enter it via VCDS / OBD11. But based on a conversation I had with ADMIN they don't know how to do this on the new cars (hence on the audi app there is a warning about what is and is not supported)

Good morning everybody,
first of all, thank you very much for the great OBDeleven-solution!
Is it save (now) to buy and use the VIM-app on OBDeleven?
I read of several users who crashed there units with it!
I have a Seat Leon Cupra 300 from 05/2017!

ollibolli, cant say i have every seen anybody crash there units with an app. UPDATE - However I have seen people trash there ecu when using VCDS and a cheap knockoff cable (its the cable that causes the issue not software).
Yes the apps don't work sometimes but never on this forum have they crashed the hardware - did they do something else as well, was it a retrofitted unit etc etc. If the app shows on the Cupra list then I would be happy to use it, if it does not show then obviously they have not worked out how to code it yet.

Thank you cupra280!
By the way: Are the OBDeleven-developer interested for a coding to provide it in their in-app-offer?

If you mean something else please help me understand better. Cheers
