Took my car 2022 GTI SE to dealer for Start stop never engaging in the 2 months Ive had it even when I have met all the critera per the owners manual. Also in accessory mode I was getting a message "12 v battery low charge by driving". The dealer said they couldnt find anything wrong and my battery tested out ok, yet SS still does not work. He gave me a print out of the Faults after he said there was none? I plan on calling the service advisor and venting but I would like to know if these codes have anything to do with the SS system. thanks

hmm..........first, I hate Start Stop with a vengeance- so not having the feature operate for 2 months is an advantage IMO!!
That said, if others want SS - then that's OK too. So, I assume that you are aware of ALL of the myriad conditions that are needed to satisfy the SS decision mechanism to turn-off the engine when the car has stopped. If not - then the following might be instructive:
Important preconditions for automatic engine switch-off - The driver is wearing their seat belt.
- The driver door is closed.
- The bonnet is closed.
- The factory-fitted towing bracket is not attached electrically to a trailer.
- A minimum engine temperature has been reached.
- The vehicle has been moved since the engine was last switched off.
- For vehicles with Climatronic: the temperature inside the vehicle is within the pre-set temperature range.
- The defrost function of the air conditioning system is not switched on.
- The charging state of the vehicle battery is sufficient.
- The temperature of the vehicle battery is not too low or too high.
- The vehicle is not on a steep incline
- For vehicles with an automatic gearbox: the front wheels are not angled too sharply.
- The windscreen heating is not switched on.
- Reverse gear is not engaged.
- The park assist system (Park Assist) system is not active.
In regard to your scan report (what is VKMS? Maybe VerbrennungsKraftMaschineSicherheit = internal combustion engine security?), there are 2 x interesting errors that may (emphasis on "may") be relevant to the SS function:
- B10CD00 - Function limitation due to energy management - Intermittent (hex08 module)
- U105000 - Battery monitoring control module -No Communication -Intermittent (hex19 module)
Error 1 suggests that there have been instances where the car's EMS has had to restrict the operation of the air-conditioner because of limited engine power. This happens usually when there is a coincidence of hard driving at the same time as elevated hot/cold weather conditions. when this happens the decision mechanism in the car restricts air-con operations. In respect of SS - this can suppress the operation of SS because the engine will NOT be turned off when the car has stopped if the requested cabin temperature has not been achieved
Error 2 refers to what the wiring diagram calls "J367" (this is the Battery Monitor Control Module). J367 is pivotal to the operation of SS because it tells the Energy Management System (EMS) the status of the battery, In particular, J367 tells the EMS if the battery has sufficient capacity to restart the engine after SS has switched it off. This decision matrix is "fail-safe" - meaning that if the correct information isn't provided to the EMS, SS doesn't operate!
Error 2 suggests that for some reason J367 has lost communications with the hex19 module intermittently - unfortunately we don't know how frequent this fault has been. J367 sits on the negative battery terminal. Might be prudent to check the wires/connector that terminate on the module body
Again, I caution that these are guesses - based entirely on very limited information!!

Follow up...Took my car to a different dealer and apparently they were competent enough to fix it. The SS was never adapted from the factory properly which is why it never worked. Took them about 45 mins and its all good now.

Almost - but a little too bulky even for German oldschool engineers. VKMS is Vehicle Key Management System. You will also find SOK (Sichere Onboard Kommunikation) in this context. It is an extension to Component Protection, signing and/or encrypting specific Can or Ethernet Datagrams. This fails every now and then, when control units are resetting or are not booting up as fast as they should. Nothing to worry about. In case there is an error, you will rapidly get the yellow /!\ and some functions being restricted. |

Isn't this annoying? I understand that some mechanics aren't as good as others, but they could have researched and figured out a way to fix it. It's like you have a problem, you can show you have a problem, but instead they said "we can't figure this out after we put X amount of time"
That's such a strange thing to say, it's just giving up
