Hi, I recently purchased a 2011 Passat Bluemotion, and it seems the previous owner had used VCDS as it already had needle-sweep etc. enabled. The other thing they've done is disable the Start/Stop system - I presume by either setting the minimum voltage to 12.1 V or changing the minimum temperature to 50 deg C. Except OBDeleven, when opening Controller 19 - Gateway, only shows me Long Adaptation, rather than the more useful Adaptation - so I can't alter the settings as most guides suggest (example www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f197/disable-stop-start-vcds-tweak-94276.html ) If I browse through the channels in Long Adaptation, there are 3 values set to 12.1 V - so one of these might be the culprit. However, I cannot alter the values (see screenshots). I've logged in with the security code before attempting anything. I've tried the current and the beta of the app, too. Any help gratefully received!

Hello,
I own a passat b7 from 2014. It has a start stop system that I wish to disable . I bought the odbeleven dongle pro version for this purpose , but I cannot access the item needed.
I need to change the limit start stop voltage , which you can find in modules >gateway > and there should be adaptations , but this option is not available . I only see long code adaptation Is there any work around to this method
I found another way to disable it , but then you have permanent error in the MFA data screen between your clocks.
Hope that you can help me.
Best regards vincent

Have to ask the following to make sure all items are covered.
Firstly do you have the pro version.
Secondly have you done any other coding using the app
Third how did you do the first change did you use an app or did you do manual coding and if manual what coding did you try to use.
Lastly have you raised it with support.

Yes, raised it with support. They said post on the forums..

OK Well not sure if this link helps www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/531807-Vag-com-killed-my-stop-start. I have a 2014 Seat Cupra when I changed it by using the adaptions (under control unit 01 engine) I could see it had turned off (my car screen told me there was an error) but I took screen dumps of all the long coding (LOOKING AT BYTE AND BIT SCREEN) items and they did not appear to have changed but if you think there is anything else i can look at let me know and glad to try it. I also checked out the history log but that only shows i used an adaption (which you dont have) Sorry cant be more help.

Thanks.
I can't see a lower voltage (it should be 7.6V) in any of the channels, so pretty sure it's that which has been changed - but OBDeleven won't let me. I may have to concede and try and get my mate round who has the fully-paid up VCDS. It's a shame. I guess you get what you pay for with ODBeleven..!
I'll check the Long Coding on 01-ENGINE though, as the link suggests. You never know.

I have just checked my car and i have the following settings showing 7.6 V
Control unit: 19 Gateway Adaptations: Start/stop start voltage limit: 7.6 V
I would try support again via the app with regards to not being able to make changes, the only other thing I can think off is in some places you have to enter a code first to allow you to make changes but you should have seen that screen.

I have the exact same problem. Is there any resolution to this? Or any workaround?

It is unintuitive indeed. The thing is I want to activate start/stop (change 12.1V back to 7.6V on channel 008 - or is it another channel? I see it on 008.) It was deactivated by the previous owner of the car. I want it on.
I've tried the HEX value editor, it says it has 00 stored. whenever I increase the 00 to 01, the 12.1 changes to 12.2

I have factory coded start stop and obdeleven calculates it as 10.8V (as far as i remember). When i get home i'll check te original hex coding.
ps. start-stop in VW sucks and i find it dangerous, i have m-b glc and start stop in this car works totally different.

Dangerous, how? Doesn't it provide better fuel economy?

I haven't noticed s/s influcence on consumption, but my drivestyle is like 10% city/90% out of city where it actually could help.
It's dangerous because in combination with dsg and electronic accelerator pedal it makes like 3 seconds (!!!) lag when you try to turn on to traffic. Engine goes off totally inpredictable. In mercedes it can somehow "detect" you're maneuvering/waiting for left turn etc (i think it reads force driver uses on brake pedal, turn signals, steering wheel position etc). In vw it doesn't.

I see... well, still. I'd be nice to have it on, just to see it in action. If I won't like it, I'll disable it.

I have the exact same problem. Is there any resolution to this? Or any workaround? Same problem here as well. Can someone please explain to me like I'm 5 years old how to enable or disable the start stop system when you have the long adaptation instead of just "adaptation". Btw It's a shame they didn't make an app for it.

This is what I see when i try to change my start/stop parameters. And I can't change even the temperature values. I'm wondering is it even possible to disable this damn ss system on my Passat b7 2013, 130kw, TDI, highline ? No answers on this forum so far

Waking this topic up again same issue Long Adaption here aswell on my Passat b7 (2012) instead of just Adapation. The only easy way to disable it is to go into Adaption - Engine and disable it there but it causes an Error message that can't be cleared in the MFD. I honestly dont know why they havent made an app for this as its probably the most desired fuction to be able to disable.

Now they even removed long adaption with latest update. Jeez how hard can it be to just make an app for it.

Basicly you Change ascii to HEX by clicking on it, Change value to C82000 and it will only Come on when the outside temp is above 50 celsius
