Hello everybody I have a keyless system in my car, and I would like to know if there is any way to turn off the engine or the ignition using the key fob? For example: when I arrive somewhere on a long journey I always leave the engine running for at least 2 minutes to rest, and I'm going to do other things... And I would like to know if I could turn off the engine using the key command, to not having to get inside the car to turn it off... I know I'm lazy to go inside the car and turn it off like anyone does, but if it were possible to turn it off using the key command it would be very helpful!

I’m not 100% sure but I thought all new vag cars had a secondary electric water pump so you don’t need to do this anymore? Do you push your car that hard?

luciollduarte : I'm with vwjap - ALL MQB platform cars (like the Golf mk7/7.5) have an electric water pump that is thermostatically controlled when the ignition is turned-OFF. If this pump isn't working (you can hear it if it is working) when you leave the car, then it means that the coolant temperature is OK! Don

So if it's just an auxiliary water pump that's running (you can clearly hear it humming when you turn off the engine) does that mean the turbo is not being cooled? I thought this electric pump was added to mainly cool off the turbocharger after longer or harder drives. Is the turbocharger also water cooled in modern TSI engines? I don't think so. Then why would you need to keep cooling an engine that is no longer running?

As I understand it cools the turbo bearings oil, cooling the turbo, I seem to recall Audi doing a recall on the pump because it could set fire, then gave you extended warranty on the turbo if you had a new pump, but the pump was hard to get so they would link it out and run without it until they got the pump, then you wouldn’t get the extended warranty on the turbo
It’s quite quiet so the noise you are hearing could be the radiator fans, the pump does make a little hum
