Does anyone know how to code this for MK8 Golf GTI? image is for an app for a 2022 VW Jetta. I tried Speed Limit Assistant in Control Unit 13 (ACC) but no change. Did I miss something? or was that the wrong setting?

Yep. Wrong bit changed. Have a try with 6/7 - Cruise Control Mode.

If you mean change bit 6 or 7, changing 6 gives an error, changing 7 didn’t appear to do anything as far as showing an extra option for “limiter”

Byte 6 bit 7. Or use the guided coding to find cruise control mode as I pointed out

Oh cruise control mode is already switched on. I’m looking to switch on the speed limiter like in the image

Ah. Understood, sorry.
Have a look at control unit 17, adaption dispay of longitunal coordinators. Enable speed limiter, but keep CCS off.
Might be worth a try

So this worked in the sense it adds the option, but selecting it does nothing. Tried flashing a reset signal to the control unit but highlighting the option and pressing ok doesn’t change the option. Going to let the car sit until I’m ready to go to work so the next I get in it’s a fresh restart and hopefully that works. But as of right now, option is displayed but not functional

Yea everything getting a reboot didn’t do anything. Option is added but can’t be selected and doesn’t function in its current state

We are getting there. In case there is another option needed in the engine ecu - we can only guess since it is undocumented. It might be Byte 6 Bit 2. But this is a blind guess from older cars and comes with no warranty from my side. Fingers crossed!

Control unit 01 to clarify? Or dashboard control unit?

Engine. As stated above.

Yea I thought so. Just wanted to be sure because I always tried to steer clear of the engine control unit unless I had an actual reason haha

Will road test and share results once I leave work

Lets make an one click app for it. Testers are welcome to share their accounts email via private message for invitation.

I agree. Let’s make it an app. Should be an app, Especially if it’s one for other models

App is created, but needs to be tested :-) Should work for all MQBw, but created for Golfs only right now. But: It looks like only a few regions are not having it from factory.

Do you want me to test it to see if it toggles off/on correctly?

I actually never bothered with the testing and release process, but I know some feedback and testing is involved. I added you to test my unpublished apps. But I do not know how to proceed from there.

So exactly what does this enable/disable? It obviously wont allow us to go over the 135mph limit.

newty Just for my info are you talking about sharing a Ultimate one click app with other users or do you have full access to the OCA developers tool.
UPDATE
Just to confirm (I asked support to confirm my understanding) if you have the Ultimate pack yes you can build your own One Click Apps but you cant share them they are for your account only.

So exactly what does this enable/disable? It obviously wont allow us to go over the 135mph limit. Allows you to set a speed limit. So no matter how much you press down on the accelerator it will not exceed the set speed limit you have set

I seem to recall that if you are going downhill and you exceed the speed set then you just get a warning, is that still the case or does it now apply the brakes.

Hi folks! Just found this thread, I have a 2020 Polo GTS (it's the latin american version, with a 1.4 turbo engine). The car has Cruise Control (not ACC, nor speed limiter). I'm looking to purchase an OBDEleven but want to make sure I can activate this function. My concern is the car doesn't have the Drive Assist button or selector, the steering wheel looks like this. platterfoot, when you enabled it do you use this "Drive Assist" button? Or do you operate it via the wheel? Thanks in advance!

Isnt the Polo still PQ26? Then you are completely wrong here at the Golf 8, which is MQBw
Being no expert there, but for MQB a "Mode" Button was needed in the Steering wheel to switch between CC and Speedlimit.

I'm pretty sure the 2020 Polo is MQB. So I would need to retrofit that button, right?

Post by newty on Apr 12, 2023 21:02:13 GMT
Yep, MQB A0, which is barely related to MQB. Still, Golf 8 is MQBw and therefore no good example. The correct and exactly matching button field is mandatory, otherwise it just fails and does not work. Also, I am unaware of the coding needed for Speed Limiter in Gateway

Sucks I don't think it will be possible to retrofit it. It would be awesome for the CC button to cycle between modes but welp. Oh, there's a One Click App for the Speed Limiter. I saw it when browsing the app.
