I have a 2017 US GTI SE I used the app to set the DRL's to go out when the handbrake is on. obdeleven reports the setting as "on" but the DRL's remain on when the hand brake is set. Am I doing something wrong?

Am I doing something wrong? US factory settings shut DRLS off when handbreak is applied. Try restoring from a back up (if you backed up the log) and seeing if this works.

- Select Security access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select adaptation
- Search for Außenlicht_Front (or search for just "Front" and select Außenlicht_Front)
- Select Tagfahrlicht Dauerfahrlicht bei Handbremse abschalten and set to active

OK, so everything worked until
Select Central electrics module (@ address hex09)
Select Security access
Enter the magic number 31347
Select adaptation
here --- > Search for Außenlicht_Front (or search for just "Front" and select Außenlicht_Front)
Select Tagfahrlicht Dauerfahrlicht bei Handbremse abschalten and set to active
My list of options are in English and when I searched for "front" I didn't recognize anything that I thought looked like it was associated with exterior lights. There were some options that had "RL" Could that stand for "running lights"?

Update:
- Search for Außenlicht_Front (or search for just "Front" and select Außenlicht_Front)
I changed the search to lights and Daytime Running Lights popped up
- Select Tagfahrlicht Dauerfahrlicht bei Handbremse abschalten and set to active
I found this, but it was already set to active.
-Try restoring from a back up (if you backed up the log) and seeing if this works.
I'm sure I didn't back up anything.
I spend a lot of time sitting in the car when it is parked listening to the radio. I can just turn the automatic lights off and get the DRL's to go off, but then having them go off when the brake is on would be better.
I appreciate all the help so far.

I have a seat cupra and i had the same issue, first time i used the app it did not work (I had scandi drl's all working fine). I then (using the free credits you can get daily) undid it and did it again, second time it worked.
Also my code (which I thought would be the same) for this function is
1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347) 2 - Adaptation 3 - Select - Daytime Running Light 4 - Sub - Tagfahrlicht Dauerfahrlicht bei Handbremse abschalten 5 - Change value to ON

Hi Don and all Do you know if the DRL turns off when the handbreak is applied ONLY if the car light switch is in the OFF and not in the AUTO position?

I'm having this same issue. Mine just turns off when I put the switch to the Off position.
Any clues?

pauloon : On a mk7, there are 3 x separate tweaks for turning off the DRLs:
- Turn-off DRL when Parking Brake is activated
- Turn-off DRL when Rotary Light Switch is in "0" position
- Turn-off DRL via a software switch in the MIB
I suspect that you have applied tweak 2 above

Hi Don,
Sorry for the delay. I did not receive a notification about your reply. Nope... my tweak is only 1.
Thanks, Paulo.
