Why can’t the first generation device work with the beta bmw testing programme?
I would be happy to test on our 2021 Mini JCW if it would work on the first gen device.
Is the first gen no longer being supported now?

Hey there,
due to technical differences between the First-Gen and the Next-Gen devices, only the Next-Gen device is capable to support BMW and more car brands in the future.

OBD for BMW asks for my device passcode every time then a manual input on the vin. Then it directs me onto the vag app. What's going on? Installed new version today 0.45. Removed found car and reconnected, exactly the same issue as 0.43 If you are going to public release would be worth sorting the software first. Apparently it is picking up the correct car then just disconnects.

Currently, you will have to enter the device PIN every time you will try to connect the vehicle. We will add functionality to same the VAG application too shortly. This is still a testing app, so some functions are still in development.

BMW (F, I and G series), MINI (F-series starting from 2015) and Rolls-Royce (from 2013) vehicles are supported.

F55 mini Cooper.
Latest version installed today, same issue still.
Now wishing I hadn't upgraded the dongle just for this
The app actually shows the model in the garage but disconnected the dongle everytime I try to connect,

BMW - MINI - Rolls-Royce APP is working ONLY with OBDeleven nextgen, NO support for old white gen 1 device.

That would be great, but it still disconnects so no action can be taken on the car. As I mentioned above its a mini cooper f55 the app detects it but that's all.

If you are having any issues with using or testing the BMW app, you should report it to Customer Support by pressing the help button in the application.

Having the exact same issue. When I first downloaded the beat app was working no problem, but now just finds car then disconnects

This is on android btw, never been able to open the beta app on my iPhone just says my country isn’t supported?
