Some of the MK7 mods don’t work on later cars because they updated the 09 module (central electronics) and now it doesn’t have long coding only adaptions plus the adaptions have also changed the names of the channels (same module as the facelift, and also the newest Tiguan) so some tweaks still need to be worked out

Hello Again. I just tried it. If I select Information Head Unit 5F for the ECUs, I can not go for customization, just select the long encoding. Thus, I can not enter / search the steps you have written me but only the bits and bit adjustment adjust. Is there a trick here? Many Thanks.

Whys it say 1gal though ? Am i missing something it how much fuel you’d need to top up the tank, not what’s left 😂😂😂 confusing eh? The other odd-part about the reading is that it seems to exclude the "reserve amount". So the reading that is displayed always seems to be about 5 liters below the actual fill amount. I first tried this tweak years ago, but I reckon that it's useless because of the way that it always under-estimates the unfilled volume in the petrol tank (IMO). Don

I can choose: info, errors, long coding, access authorization for the others: description data not found yet. Neo-golfer: It might be a problem that results from the "hack" for the Component Protection error fix - I'm just guessing. Try resetting the MIB unit and the App cache. To reset the MIB unit, turn-on the radio and then press and hold-down the ON/OFF button until the unit switches-off and then switches-on again (about 10 seconds) Then clear the App cache on your tablet/mobile-phone before you start up the OBD11 software Don

I bought a set of R headlights from a German Ebay company (ex new VW factory stock for a song) and installed it with no issues whatsoever, just make sure you know what the part number of the lights is that you need (AFS auto levelling etc)
plug and play, no coding required...

Hello Don, I have as you wrote the radio restarted and emptied the cache and then tried again to program but it remains unchanged. I also once made a photo of the error message:

I'd say the 6th one down is adaptions, presuming your native language isn't English

That's right, the sixth point is adaptation. If I select this one comes the error message: Description data not found. This is written on the red banner on the second photo. I am slowly despairing 😟

I am slowly despairing 😟 neogolfer: If you can access Long Coding, it means that OBD11 can read the module - so I don't think that it's a compatibility issue. Again, as a guess - it seems to me that the "hacked" module to avoid Component Protection errors might be the cause. Have you tried making a back-up of the module? If not then try the sequence below: The instructions show the process for the Central electrics module (@ address hex09), but it's exactly the same if you select the 5F module. Don

Hello Don, thanks for the description. If I made the backup should I just try again to program or do I have to load the base setting? If yes how? And what happens to the component protection, is it then active again? Greetings from snowy Germany ...

Hello Don, thanks for the description. If I made the backup should I just try again to program or do I have to load the base setting? If yes how? And what happens to the component protection, is it then active again? Greetings from snowy Germany ... neogolfer: No - I wanted to see if your problem only occurs when accessing the adaptation channels in the change setting part of OBD11, or whether the problem was wider. When you do a Back-up, the Gateway module @ address hex19 will simply asks the 5F module to identify every adaptation channel and its setting. This is a pure polling activity. Making a Back-up doesn't change anything - it simply polls the module, nothing more! So, CP is unaffected by Back-up and also any other change that you have made is unaffected Don PS: Greetings from Melbourne where the current temperature is 38 degrees C (100 degrees Fahrenheit)
