huh? You have a MY13 Golf GTE that doesn't have a coolant display?
I'm surprised!! I had my MY13 Golf for many years and I'm fairly sure that the dial reading NEVER deviated from 90 degrees C over those years - and Australia is a hot country!! So, I'm not sure how useful the gauge was as a practical item?
If the coolant temperature is too high, the car's diagnostic system will tell you as a warning message, so I guess that it's entirely possible that some vehicles did not have the dial fitted. Coolant temperature is measured and it's recorded as part of the Engine module functions (look in Live data). AFAIK, coolant temperature isn't in the function list for early model MIBs (alas)

The only way to enable coolant and oil temperature is to activate Performance monitor in infotainment.
