I have a Golf GTD 2013 with led fog lights , few days had an accident and the fog light dettached and the connection pin was totally broken but i have no warning lights in the dash about front fog light not working. Is it supposed to alert you or its a different story with led ones ? Thank you

goni : OK - on a MQB platform vehicle like your mk7, each of the 35 x exterior lights are controlled by what I call a "Leuchte-set". Each Leuchte-set is a bunch of 19 x adaptation channels that live in the central electrics module. Each Leuchte-set has its own self monitoring function. So, the answer to your question is that if the LED lamp does not operate when the fog light is switched-on, yes there should be an error message. But if you haven't physically operated the rotary light switch to turn-on the fog light (i.e. pull-out the center turret), no there won't be an error message Don

goni : hmmm......... just to be clear - are you saying that when you turn-on the (front?) fog lights - one, or both don't illuminate and there are no error messages? AND again for clarity - are you also saying that before the accident, the front fog lights worked? If the answer is yes to both questions, post-up screenshots of Leuchte12NL LB45 (I need to see ALL 19 x channels) Don

Before the accident both front fog lights worked well, after the accident the right one was smashed and its not lighting up and still no warning , after that i removed the whole fog light from the bumper and still no warning when i turn them on .

goni : latest screenshots also look OK.
The only "odd" aspect of the Leuhte-sets is Leuchte12NL LB45-Dimmwert EF 12 - which has the value 100 in your screenshot, but which should be 127 as factory setting. But this shouldn't suppress the diagnostic facility in the front fogs (and "LB45" Leuchte-set is for the left-side lamp). The only other suggestion that I have is to check the details of the front fogs as viewed from the central electrics module's perspective - like this: - Fire-up OBD11 and connect to the dongle
- Navigate to the central electrics module
- Scroll-down and select Live data option
- Enter "fog" into search box and select Fog light
- Turn-on the front fog lights
- Refer to the following screenshot:
- Scroll-down until you see Connector terminal number 5 - this is the right-side front fog light
- Confirm that Signal status = active
- What is the value for Diagnosis - it should be normal if the hex09 module believes that the right-side fog-light is operational?

goni: hmm...... I'm all out of suggestions! Clearly the central electrics module believes that the lamp is working OK! Don
