Hello, first sorry for the english, I'm using google translator.
I'm Brazilian and I'm doing a transmission swap on a golf 7 1.4 tsi with dq200 transmission. All the mechanical part is ok, just need to finish the electrical part.
Unfortunately, information about this on the internet is very difficult, some success stories, but many topics without resolution....
We ran into the following situation, we are not able to encode the transmission in the car's ecu, we are using vcds, but it does not record the modification. In the few videos I found on youtube, they made it on a GTI and using obd11, they managed to record the modification in the ECU.
My question would be, could obd11 have the power to do the recording in the ecu, and vcds could not do it??

carlos: Hi. Not quite sure what is meant by "not able to encode the transmission in the car's ecu"? Are you referring to the coding in Byte 1 of the ECU long-code string?

I don't know if it's exactly, because it wasn't time that my mechanic was trying to code in the ecu. But the ecu didn't really let us record the encoding, we solved it by flashing a manual car file.

Hello Carlos, how did you do the flash of the ecu? I have the same detail with a gti 6c pole that I am doing manual and I need to encode it and they told me that with OBD eleven I could do the coding
