What is the default value for diagnostic mode? I was playing around, my fault yes , and i switchted it thinking it would show the original setting in history.

Control unit

What's confusing is that one has diagnostic setting of End of assembly line mode (EOL) and the value is OBD-diagnostic mode

The other has diagnostic session - VW - diagnostic mode with a value of End of assembly line mode (EOL)

The value and diagnostic session switches? Is this one setting or two

Depending on the selected Session, some features are not avaliable in standard diagnosis

Typically, it is retained until the diagnosis session to that module is disconnected. OBD11 does not allow this, so we have to wait for other events. Reset points are ignition cycles, control module resets and bus rest - depending in the module. Locking the car, having a drink for 25 minutes and coming back will surely reset the session and any security access key.
