Hi everyone. I’m a happy new owner of a 2015 Highline Golf (Canada) but I am need of some help. I’ve learned alot on this forum (very thankful!) but have not been able to figure out how to fix my problem.
I purchased the car knowing it had an AFS error warning light everytime the car started. The previous owner took it to VW and they told him that he needs a whole new headlight assembly which would cost $1300! So I decided to by an OBD11 to investigate.
I found two faults:
“Right swivel module position sensor signal wire” C108E11
“Right swivel module position sensor feed voltage” C109011
So I decided to swap a module (#3D0 941 329 H05 S0012) on the bottom of the right headlight and switch it with the left headlight. When I did that the fault moved to the left headlight.
Hoping this was the only problem I went ahead and bought a module off of ebay.
I purchased one with the exact same item (3D0 941 329) but didn’t realize that the remaining numbers were H00 S000 instead of H05 S0012.
When I put it in I received I received the fault U101400 Control module incorrectly coded.
When I looked at the subsystem information (LeiMo Links) I noticed the Coding was 90 00 00
and not 2E 00 00 like the other side.
I tried changing it the OBD11 but it just gave a 31 function not available error.
I searched in the forum for some possible remedies but none worked.
So I went ahead and purchased another module. The closest to the original I could find was 3D0 941 329C H05 S0012. I crossed my fingers and put it in but still get the same
Fault C1081F1 Control module incorrectly coded but this time the Code is 2C 00 00 and I still was unable to change the code with OBD11.
After changing the module I noticed that the headlight self test on car startup functions normally where previously the headlight did not move properly.
I decided to disable AFS with the OBD11 because I’d rather not have the warning pop up and live without the AFS.
So I guess I’m wondering if anyone knows how to properly code the new module or if it's possible?
Thank you and look forward to learning more on this forum.
