Hello,
I have an RS3 8Y model 2022 and I would like to change my comfort indicator from 3 pulses to 5 pulses. I can't find it in 1-click apps. Can you put it manually by coding? If yes, does anyone know the manipulations to be carried out on the black OBD?
Thanks.

Hi, I have a 2022 rs3 and wondered if you have managed to use any apps?
Only got mine today but everything doesn’t seem to work apart from turning off lane assist
I know it’s cheesy but also wanted the sound for locking and unlocking!
Didn’t know if this was just me because I’m on apple of if it’s the 8y in general?

This is not the procedure on OBD; I just looked on my app. This is the procedure for VCDS I think.

This is not the procedure on OBD; I just looked on my app. This is the procedure for VCDS I think. These are Adaptations for MIB3 units with OBD11. Maybe you will find under different names. I used german language on my OBD

Just read that this is 8Y Forum. Thought it is 8V. There is already MQB37/evo built, so there is no solution for now. Same as Golf8, Octavia IV and new Seat. Sorry man

Yes, you hadn't seen that you were on the A3 8Y post? So it's not developed and no one knows how to access it! Is it still weird? I hope that the 1-click application will be developed quickly because it is an important function for me. If anyone has any info it is welcome thank you.

hmm...........if anyone with a mk8 wants to try - my suggestion (it's a hunch) is:
- central electrics module
- select adaptation
- search for "light" and select light control
- select Comfort flasher set point (default value = 3)
- Change as desired (there's probably a limit in the allowable range - not sure of upper value and I suspect the lower value=1)
The tweak for a mk7 then needed an in-car reset procedure to be completed - like this: - Press the Car button on the RHS of the discover/composition media head.
- Press Set-up on the bottom RHS of the screen
- In the Vehicle Setting screen, press the Factory Settings panel (it's at the very end of the list at the bottom of the screen)
- In the Factory Settings screen, under Reset individual settings/data, press Vehicle
- Press Reset tab in the window that says Reset "Vehicle" settings-are you sure?
I'm not sure if MQBevo platform cars (i.e. mk8) have the same in-car facility as above,
WARNING: the in-car procedure above is NOT the same as factory reset options in the central electrics module - do not use the factory reset options in any module via OBD11!!

Thank you for your return. I hope that an MK8 owner will go through it and try it on his car because I only have an RS3 8Y 2022!

Hi all, I found the command to change the number of the comfort indicators flashing through obdeleven. Obviously you have to go to the control unit 09 and look for the light control item, inside there is the item to change the number of flashes. However I tried to enter a number between 4 or 5 but the encoding does not happen. Among other things, among the values available for the encoding, there is no 4 or 5. I think it will be necessary to do it with the vcds, I also tried that but the control unit 09 does not take the security code 31347.

giacco : Maybe read the dialogue HERE. Yes, the post refers to the Golf mk8, but this car has the same pedigree (DNA) as the 8Y/GY (i.e. MQB-evo platform).
It appears that the channel Comfort flasher set point in my previous post allows just 2 x Bits of value. With only 2 x Bits and remembering that each Bit can only have one of two states (i.e. either 1, or 0) - this means that the channel values can only have 4 x values possible in Binary arithmetic, like this: Binary (2 x Bits)
| Decimal
| 00
| 0
| 01
| 1
| 10
| 2
| 11
| 3
|
As you can see from my table, it appears that the designers of the MQB-evo platform have placed an upper value on this channel of three (in the Decimal numbering system) and I suspect that the lower limit is one!
Please be aware that all of this stuff is "observational" meaning that it's not official from the car manufacture. Nevertheless, the laws of mathematics are inviolate - so the conclusion is unquestionable!!
Now, I have no idea why three is the upper limit - but I suspect that the designers thought that more comfort blinks could confuse other drivers (perhaps wrongly indicating that the car is turning into a street, rather than just changing lanes).
Ultimately however, it really doesn't matter why the upper limit is three - all that counts is that this restriction seems to be (is?) binding!!

Hello, yes I had read the post, but the forum sector concerns the audi a3 8y, in fact the first post starts talking about the audi a3. Hello.

giacco : "but the forum sector concerns the audi a3 8y, in fact the first post starts talking about the audi a3"i? hmm..............OK, if you believe that the same MQB-evo build platforms on the Golf mk8 and on the Audi A3 8Y are fundamentally different in respect of comfort blinking - then sure, go ahead and pursue your conviction.
I really do hope that you succeed - but I suspect your efforts will be the delicious futility of an impossible task!!
Please let us know how you fare
