I don't know how they know but according to support.obdeleven.com/en/articles/5685817-are-there-any-restrictions-for-sfd-use

The unlock of SFD will not work if you are located in Taiwan or China.

Dont know if that means vehicle is located in China or is a Chinese version, I would contact support directly to ask.

i have seen a menu in the app, that enables/disables 3 things.
1. carplay
2. android auto
3. A chineese alternative to the 2 above.

I activated the chineese thing. it worked.

So I do not see the reason for someone to try to enable the android auto and fail.
