Hi, I jhave bought and mounted VW original rear hook, for mounting bike carrier etc. I have installed the electronic box, a lot of work, with routing to the fuze box and all. But it need to be activated somehow. I have the activation code (numerical string). Is this possible to do with OBDeleven? I bought the OBDeleven device last year, and now the license has expired. DOn't know if I care to pay 50 EUR a year for it, since I haven't been able to use it for anything so far.

Hello, I'm not sure but if you know where to do the coding and in which module you can with OBDeleven enter your line of code in hexadecimal but it seems to me that it's the Ultimate version that you need to modify the settings of the car without the need for credit.
Since you bought everything original, why does VW not want you to do it (coding only)? Is it a question of price or they don't know how to do it?

Well, I like to try things myself. And since I've installed tow hooks on my previous cars, I wanted to do it. But when I came back to my VW dealer and asked for help with activating the electronics, they would not give me a fixed price. I got a bit annoyed, but they were not interested. And since they charge above 100 EUR an hour, and claimed it could take a day to fiddle with the ID cars... I left.

I understand, if you have all the coding to do and you keep the Pro version, Propose it to have a one-click application for the car I give you the line here

Sorry for the late reply. On the return of the car for the shop for one of all the updates, they agreed to activate the electronics free of charge. Or perhaps it was 100 EUR, I can't really recall.
