I have retrofitted the footwell lighting and door lighting and would now like to activate the ambient lighting in the MMI.
Who can tell me how to do this with my ODB11 Pro.
At the moment there ist no possibility to select Ambient Light in the Car-Menu
Thank you very much for your help. Gerhard

can you explain what retrofitted means? can I purchase the factory modules/lights etc from audi and do the same? I keep seeing kits on aliexpress and am wondering if this is what you mean or something else. I have a 2022 S5 premium and it only has the white led option but wondered if there are options for people like me to retrofit ambient led with colors.

Yes, you can purchase the factory modules and do the same. The difference is that for the factory modules, you need to flash the modules using VCP. For the aliexpress kit, you do not need flashing. You still need to code to show the ambient light settings in MMI.

Hi danshonin,
I have purchased a kit for my 2020 a4 from alixepress. My car currently has the white factory ambient lights. I fitted the kit and it works fine with the app but I need some help with coding.
I have obdeleven and I tried to code with this but when I go into central electrics, Byte 11 bit 3 is already active, and byte 17 is active as well.
I went into multimedia 5F and its seems the options you listed are all activated.
Interestingly, the interior_ambient_light_multicolour is already active, but my mmi menu just shows brightness control for interior lights. I deactivated this and my white factory lights were off.

Did you remove the white lighting cables and replaced with the Aliexpress kit?

Hello Gege! I would like to ask who did you buy from on ali? I also want to, but I don't know which one will work I need it for A6, but if it's good for A4, that version will surely be good. Thank You! Lina

Did you remove the white lighting cables and replaced with the Aliexpress kit? Hi I just unplugged the white cables but I don't want code using the china box as I want to be able to reverse any changes if needs be. Hence the reason why I want to use obd.

Hi guys. I have a situation with an Audi a4 b9 avant 2020 that did not have any interior ambient light(feet ,dashboard, passenger or doors). I ordered and installed a kit from Aliexpress with Mib grey connector that goes into the 52 pin quadlock. I tried to code it using the obd flash adapter provided by seller. It is supposed to flash 3 times in a row with a pause for 30 second and then flash quickly at the end to confirm successfull coding. It flashes but at the end there is not quick flash but a complete stop. When I connect it to the normal wiring,no light is on and it is basically useless. Do I need to code it? I have Obd eleven Ultimate . Is what the first answer instructed enough? Thank you in advance !

I’m having no success getting the MMI to control ambient lighting in my 2020 A4 B9.5 (facelift) P+. I’ve tried settings in this thread and others…it’s difficult to differentiate if people are supplying steps for b9 or b9.5 (facelift) regardless I’ve tried them ALL. The kit I retrofitted (Amazon) was fairly plug and play with no issues regarding fitment and the interior lighting menu option I do have for brightness controls it perfectly, so I’m assuming its hooked up properly. If anyone has had success coding please supply steps that worked for you, also I’m not sure if I’m stuck because I’ve seen people suggest the QQ2 parameters must be uploaded to the control module using VCP or ODIS. Any help will be greatly appreciated considering I’m stuck with blue or nothing lol

Have you contacted the Aliexpress vendor? My understanding is that you do need to install the QQ2 parameters using VCP. Please check with the vendor. I believe they have a dongle that you can attach to the OBD2 port to change the ambient light settings.
