I have purchased the DAP harness for LED tails. My car is the North American model 2017 R.
I have installed correctly the wire for the Rear Fog function into the DAP harness. I also installed the euro light switch that has the added fog light pull out on/off.
I performed obdeleven coding following thier recommended coding. They had me change values in channel 26 that did not work. If they didnt work they suggested that I change values in channel 27. This got the fog light to come on, but it stays on constantly. The switch does not do anything.
Do I have to activate the switch somehow? Do you know how to do this?

Did you code your new switch? If yes, then you will need to wire up a trigger wire from pin 5 of the switch to pin 29 on socket "A" of the BCM.

Nickalus: First question- "Do I have to activate the switch somehow? Do you know how to do this?" Answer yes, and yes!! Ignore the yellow box (I originally used this picture for another purpose). Note the entry " LDS_with rear fog light switch" - this yellow writing is my addition to the screenshot, but the writing to the left-side should appear on your screen - set this to yes! HOWEVER, if your Central electric module is of the newer type (the one that reports a zero series in the code string), then the screen above isn't accessible. Instead, you need to follow these instructions: 1. Select Central electrics2. Select security access3. Enter the magic number 313474. Select Adaptation5. Search for " uebergreifend" and select Außenlicht_uebergreifend6. Select LDS_mit_Nebel_Schlusslicht 7. Change setting to yesBut for this tweak to work, your rotary light switch (i.e. LDS) MUST have a second position when the center part is pulled out (i.e. first pull-out position is front fog lights - second pull-out position is rear fog lights). If your LDS only has one pull-out position, then you need to buy another LDS. If you still have a problem with the rear fog light - then post-up a copy of your settings for Leuchte27NSL RC6Don

Since he owns a Golf/R he just need a light switch w/rear fog only. This is what I did with my Golf/S.

I've been dealing with this for the past two months. I have the wire installed, I have a euro light switch, the rear fog light symbol shows up when I pull the switch out but still no light...
I followed ECS's install guide but it didn't work. Maybe you could assist me please-

OK -you have a late model mk7. Probably better to try changing Leuchte27NSL RC6-Lichtfunktion A 27 to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaeenger gesteckt

Don So I made the change, and no change the light does not illuminate. I tried switching the Lasttyp 27 to 6 - LED lichtmodul in conjunction but that setting causes a lighting error

*SOLVED*At least in my situation. I was living in the UK when I decided I wanted a GTI back in America. It was cheaper buying the LED tails in the UK and bringing them with me back to America, than buying a set from the resellers in America ( a LOT cheaper).
I was assuming that VW put foglight modules in both inside lights no matter the country, makes sense to me. This is not the case, since I have UK (RHD) tail lights there only a rear fog led module on the right side...Boo When looking into the rear fog portion of the light you can clearly see where the led is and where it isn't.
I installed the fog light jumper wire on the left so unless I move the wire to the right, or get a LHD left side center light, Im out of luck.
at least I know its not a coding issue
Anyone know where I can buy just the LHD left-side center tail light assembly???

hmm......... OK -you have a late model mk7. Probably better to try changing Leuchte27NSL RC6-Lichtfunktion A 27 to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaeenger gesteckt Don I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say thank you for this specific suggestion. I've scoured the internet trying to resolve my "fog light always on" issue with the LED taillights and a DAP euro harness, to no avail. This is the only coding change that fixed it on my 2016 mk7. Thank you!
