Hi. Just changed out the bad OEM battery on my 2015 Q3. When I enter in to "Gateway" mode there is no traditional "Adaptation" option only "Long Adaptation". Can someone please advise me on how to code the new battery in this situation? Cheers!

claudiogy : Hi. It sounds like your MY15 Q3 has non-UDS control modules. So the 4 x adaptation channels for battery information doesn't apply.
Instead, do this:
Go to the Gateway module Select Long coding and you should see the screen shot below:
Enter 04 into the dialogue box
You need to enter a single number-string into this channel that's made-up of the following 3 x components;
- the battery part number,
- the manufacturer, and
- the serial number.
Each component is separated by a space in the number-string like this: PartNumberspaceManufacturerspaceSerialNumber
ALL of this information can be found on the BEM Code sticker - see the 3 x colored boxes in the picture below.
Note: Check the number of digits in the first number - because the first part of the value that's entered into the 04 channel MUST be 11 x digits (this is the battery part number). In my picture, the red colored box has only 10 x digits - so you need to enter a space as the 11th digit. If your battery part number is the same, this means that there will be 2 x spaces between the battery part number and the manufacturer for the BEM code in my picture.
For the BEM Code sticker above, the correct entry should be:
3D0915105HspacespaceVAOspace590116G0Q9
IMPORTANT: use CAPITAL letters and make sure that you distinguish correctly between the number zero and the letter "O" (the former has a stroke through the number) - failure to do this will cause problems!!!

Thank you Don. Very much appreciated! Does it make sense that a late model car (2015) is using a non-UDS system?

claudiogy: I have no idea how Audi makes the decision to migrate their cars to the newer module protocols. The fundamental design of your Q3 is ostensibly the "first generation" and it has been manufactured from 2011 (2015 in USA) to 2018 albeit it as had a number of face-lifts (basically cosmetic modifications). This car is an "8U" type and it's mechanical/electrical configuration is built on what VAG call a PQ35 (Volkswagen Group A5) platform. The successor platform for PQ35 is MQB - which does use modules with the newer UDS protocols. The later versions of the Q3 are built on MQB Don
